New Armour/Shield Concept

Greetings, fellow knights. I've had an idea that I want to share with you all; a pure normal resistance Shield (and/or Helm and Armour set), but it has resistances against the main 4 status effects, being Fire, Shock, Freeze and Poison.

I also have a possible example of what they may be called, but I currently have no idea as to how one would obtain them, nor what they might look like. Possibly something similar to the Magic set but made from something other than cloth, something smooth.
I think they could have the same base Normal defence as the Cobalt Armour set, obviously with the piercing defence replaced with the resistances, and the Helm and Armour (if they are a possibility) would have the usual 3*, 4*, and 5* resistance values.

3* Variants: Shimmer set
4* Variants: Rainbow set
5* Variants: Mirror set

I was at first thinking of having one of them be called Prismatic [armour piece], but that could confuse people as to why their armour is a different colour to someone else's (Prismatic Accessories depending on Knight colour)
Another thing could be that, on "High" graphics settings, the Shield (or even the whole set, up to OOO) could have minor reflective qualities, but I've no idea how it could work.

Feedback is appreciated, but this was literally thought up about 10 minutes ago, so don't hesitate to say if it may be a bad idea, too.

Would be very nice to have, especially being prismatic.

With it being so useful for status resist shouldn't it be harder to acquire than most items, perhaps make it available only through Basil or a St. Patricks day event set.

The papaya thinks

Like the idea, but shouldn't the Rainbow Set be the 5* version? Because, you know, rainbows.

Wow, didn't think it'd be a good idea ^^;

Yea, maybe Basil only is good, it'd be too useful/different to current items to be an event item (since they're usually reskins or very similar, a lá Obsidian Carbine.) And maybe a slight revise on the names, but everyone's free for their own suggestion:

3* Mirrored Shimmering
4* Shimmering Rainbow
5* Rainbow Starlight

Since starlight is usually white or changes colours, and something like "Starlight Raiment" sounds kinda awesome to me.
Also, had thought of Mirror as a name variant simply for Mirror Shield, for all you LoZ fans :P

More suggestions and feedback still appreciated, honestly didn't think people might like it :O

The revised names sound like

The revised names sound like bad MLP OCs, but I do like starlight rainment.

Perhaps Polished 3*, Mirrored 4* and Rainbow 5*

So basically omega shell? It would have a hard time coexisting with omega shell at least.

Think about it this way-

All shields that don't resist what you're fighting are worse than omega shell, but the shield that does resist what you're fighting is better than omega shell. So from least to greatest ability to tank hits-

Non-resistant shield, omega shell, matching shield that can tank hits

So if your shield was aegis but with the various resistances instead of piercing resistance, then it would likely be significantly better than omega shell for all status areas. If it had much less normal defense and health, then it would be better only against status effects that don't come with damage which would just blow. If it came with something like a global charge time reduction low then perhaps that would rectify it and differentiate it enough?

---

The armor itself would be.. interesting. Probably pretty poor, actually. The game doesn't typically throw multiple status effects at you, so having something like volcanic demo against a fire level would always be better. You could use it with chaos, but again, status+class armor would certainly win out.

I think that the cobalt set should resemble this though. The cobalt set could be worth crafting as a first set if that were the case... start with one piece of rainbow whatnot, and then branch out to chaos and seerus and whatever else you'd like.

Hmm...

What about ancient set? Would it's normal defense be less then ancient set at 5 star?
