Wouldn't it be great if they made a pet but with a chao skin? I mean won't SEGA love to sneak in more SEGA related characters?
Please put ideas and input about this or other SEGA related skins!!

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

if SEGA wanted more advertisement in the game, it could have done it a long time ago. we have the metal sonic set and tails' tails, I don't think we need more cameos.
besides, just saying "pet with a chao skin" doesn't give any ideas on what you really want from it. even if you just want the looks, I don't see what sprite could suit a chao.

EDIT: also, "we love SEGA". making a lot of assumptions there.

Opa-Opa would be the absolute best thing.
@Thunder-The-Bright:
"if SEGA wanted more advertisement in the game, it could have done it a long time ago."

The idea, and consequential possibility, that they would not is quite a concerning problem.

@Thunder-The-Bright:
"we have the metal sonic set and tails' tails, I don't think we need more cameos."

Cameos are a materialistic appease, but the Sonic CD and Total War crosspromotions were well-received and lended well to Spiral Knights' style. I don't see why we should stop at that.

@Thunder-The-Bright:
"besides, just saying "pet with a chao skin" doesn't give any ideas on what you really want from it."

I think it does, it's just poorly elaborated.

@Thunder-The-Bright:
"even if you just want the looks, I don't see what sprite could suit a chao."

Seraphinx would be the better fit of the three current Battle Sprites, as Chao have been shown to grant defensive support abilities in some games. However, in some others Chao are shown to have watery attributes. It's not known if a nature-themed Battle Sprite in the future could fill this attribute, but since Water Sprites essentially exist in the game it wouldn't be an outstretched assumption that a variant could make the case at some point.

Then again, Chao are about as adaptable as Battle Sprites are. Actually, while we're at this, so are Mag units from Phantasy Star Online (a real-time dungeon hack-n'-slash RPG by SEGA/Sonic Team released in 2000), which was likely a source of inspiration for the Battle Sprites in the first place. The thing about this similarity is that Battle Sprites function the exact same way as Mags in the sense that they are artificial lifeforms that can change form and abilities to suit their environment and the needs of their owner. Seeing as a Mag can transform into a panoply of various appearances, including cameo characters such as a Chao, it's completely possible for a Battle Sprite to become a Chao.

well melon, at this point we might as well have a chaos 4 skin for drakon. wouldn't make sense as much as BK seraph still using light attacks.
then yes, a hero aligned chaos cold suit seraph. didn't think of that at the moment I posted.

Well I only wanted it because

Well I only wanted it because I really love the chao's from the sonic games. I do admit I put this up for a discussion without any more ideas than the chao skin itself. But I believe it could fit the kat very well. Your input is compelling though and I think with more thought it might be feasible.

How about using a similar system as in Adventure Battle. Depending on what you feed your Chao sprite, depends on what it becomes good at. Due to Chaos ability to adapt the skills would be more varied (and to keep things fair, possibly weaker) than the other sprites. Sega already have the system for Chaos - they could just edit it so that certain mats represented certain animals and chaos drives.

I think SA2B's chao system is a bit too complex for the design of the game. the game is fairly simple, and doesn't need the overcomplicated things that were in SA2 (on the second reincarnation, feed a chao all the animals and it becomes immortal! now that sounds easy, doesn't it?). besides, various "weaker" skills will kill the appeal of a chao sprite since, well, it's weaker, and sprites are already underused.
also, SEGA has the system implemented in the engine SA2B was in, not java. it would require to re-build it from the gorund up, and for a single sprite. no, it's better to keep it simple and just make a hero chao.

Woah woah woah woah woah. Why does it have to be hero?
Also, I think if SEGA helped OOO out it wouldn't be too hard for them (considering the system used is atleast 10 years old now, for sure).

....

Love of SEGA is debatable. I personally prefer Nintendo and Valve far over SEGA.

Ehh...

Doesn't really add much to the game. As a cosmetic it's not too big, but it's not really mandatory either. I'd rather we keep having SK-lore items (black kat reskin, roarmy reskin) than a chao reskin.
