Curse resistance
I'm thinking about getting a Faust but I want to be able to use the charge attack, which means I need curse resistance.
Does anyone have any idea how much I need so that my Faust won't get cursed? What armor would you recommend?
EDIT: I also want to add that the character I'm using will be used mostly for JK runs, so some piercing and normal defense is preferred.
My current loadout:
Wolver Set
Stone Tortoise Shield
Cautery Sword
Curse-resistant armor does not have Piercing defense, except the Silvermail which instead lacks Normal defense.
Status-resistant trinkets have been tested and proven to... have absolutely no actual effect. So don't save up for those.

wait really.

not even fire trinkets?
Especially not fire trinkets.
Needs fixing.
Thanks for the info everyone!
I'll probably end up doing a hybrid loadout that consists of something like:
Silvermail
Spiral Plate Helm (for normal defense)
Stone Tortoise Shield
Faust
I'm trying to gear for JK as well as the new upcoming T2 boss strata, the Ironclaw Munitions Factory, which will be gremlins. Both are weak to shadow so it's a win-win to gear this way, methinks.

Try this set for an all rounder which may be effective since the new patch:
Radiant Silvermail: Piercing/Shadow
Stat Res: Poison/Curse
Stat Effect: Damage Bonus VS Undead-Medium
Divine Veil: Elemental/Shadow
Stat Res:Fire/Shock/Curse
Stat Effect: Damage Bonus VS Fiend- Moderate
Barbarous Thorn Shield: Normal/Piercing/Health
Stat Effect: Sword Damage Bonus- Medium
Lacks a bit of normal and elemental resistance, but you get a slight damage buff and increased damage against fiends and undead with a lot of stat resistance. :D
My original set would be Grey Feather set with Volcanic Shield. Stun is painful. :P
So, it turns out that Gran Faust does indeed have a higher self-curse chance. Out of the ~200 charge attacks using Faust, I didn't get cursed once. With a Gran Faust, I appear to get cursed about 15% of the time. Of that 15%, my GF gets cursed 50% of the time instead of my gun; take that with a grain of salt, though, because I'm still building my spreadsheet to get more accurate numbers.
As a reminder, I have a Wolver set with medium + medium curse resistance (which comes out to very high).
Curse will randomly select weapons and items to get cursed.
While there is no legal sure-fire way to make sure your Faust itself never gets cursed, adding curse resist will:
- Lessen the number of items that get cursed.
- Lessen the length of curse.
The default (no curse resist) is 3/4 items cursed, 2/4 (?) weapons cursed.
If you have the Angelic set, for example, I think you can make it so only 2/4 items and 1/4 weapons get cursed
With the Seraphic set, I think you can push for 1/4 items and 1/4 weapons.
