Say... I may have an idea on adding a secret boss to Spiral Knights, one that involves the Golden Slime Casinos.

Listen, I'm thinking this new secret boss idea: Gold Prize Wheel Bandit.

The Gold Slot Bandit is hidden somewhere in whichever location in the Golden Slime Casino, the battle takes place in a newly designed area that looks like the usual Golden Slime Casino room, yet is big enough to become battle arena, and upon defeating them, they'll not only get more crowns & more rarity drops, but the exclusive new boss token, Slimeshine Diamond, a jewel forged in the fabled Lost Slimeshine Caverns, which powers them. The deeper the tiers, the greater the rewards are, including better chances at better rarites.

Being a slime and construct hybrid, the Prize Wheel Banditos are designed, by another race, whose construct skills may rival those to the Gremlins', to con whatever fool walks in, traps them and robs them of any goods they've harbored, including treasures, & it's been done in the past ever since the Golden Slime Casinos were here.

The Knights, however, are no fools, for they can indicate anything that indicates a trap, including fake Prize Wheel robots. Upon using the fake wheel's slot, the prize wheel activates and begins to attack the Knights and tries to take everything they hold, but they won't lose everything, no matter what. That begins the secret boss battle.

Attacks:

Construct: Coin Mine, Missile Barrage, Gift Box Bomb (Tiers 2 & 3 only)
Slime: Slime Spawns (differs on tier)
Unique: Light Flash, stuns Knights, usage times differ between tiers

Weakness: Shadow, Piercing
Defense: Elemental

Now, to the new Boss Token, the Slimeshine Diamond.

Slimeshine Diamond: This fascinating diamond, said to be forged from in the Lost Slimeshine Caverns, harbors not only fortune to any who discover it, but power, that's said to benefit those who seek to use it for good, but was hidden away from those that want to use them for evil and greed. Since it was hidden, only those who are pure can hold them. Not many were seen in other planets, but in some planets, they're more common.

OK, there is one more thing to place, the new achievement by defeating that secret boss.

Achievement: Golden Prized Winner. Defeat the Gold Prize Wheel Bandit in the Golden Slime Casino.

That's the idea of adding in a new secret boss to Spiral Knights, one that is well rewarding.

What do you think, Knights? Would you like to face that secret boss?

Grey Havens, please think on this. I would like to see that made in the game.

What do you think about this new secret boss idea?

I thought this would be a good suggestion to have a secret boss in the game, 'cause there's none presently. Hey, even this game needs some hidden challenges to overcome once in a while, yes?

Well, you never know.

there sort of is

Margrel is a "secret boss", it's just... everyone knows about it because the kat event became centered around finding books to fight margrel instead of collecting pages for the kat helmets.

Wrong. Margrel is an event boss, not a secret boss. He only appears during the Kataclysmic Confrontation event's availability. He doesn't count.

Secret bosses are very hidden opponents that harbor great & unique rewards upon defeating them, which players must need strong concentration on discovering them through finding hidden paths &/or fake walls in levels.

There's a difference between them. SK currently doesn't have secret bosses, but my idea on it's new secret boss would give us something to do while GH keeps making more new content.

Wrong. Margrel is a secret boss. He can appear at any time someone activates a Book of Dark Rituals in Moorcroft Manor, not necessarily during the event. (Source: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Book_of_Dark_Rituals, Usage)

Margrel is very hidden, requiring an item with a minuscule drop rate on moderately rare enemies, and he definitely harbors a great & unique reward upon defeating him, which players need strong dedication on discovering him through finding heaves of rare monsters &/or hundreds of thousands of crowns (to buy a slot to fight him.)

I agree that new bosses that we have to explore the arcade to find would be a fun way of encouraging players to delve in the clockworks, but Margrel is 100% an example of a secret boss. Also, if a boss was only available during an event that wasn't originally centered around it, why would the fact that it relied on an event to appear keep it from being a secret boss?

mhmm

Tapproot pretty much replied the way I would have. Margrel is a "secret" boss with an activation method just so happening to come during an event. You can fight Margrel any day of the year should you have a book of dark rituals.

Examples of event bosses include: corrupted tortodrones (March of the Tortodrones) and the Grinchlin Battlepod (Grinchlin Assault).

I do agree more secret bosses would be cool, but margrel is the perfect example of the only "secret" boss in the game.
