I plan to get two eventually but I only have one Sealed Sword at the moment. Which should I get first?

Well, faust is great for

Well, faust is great for farmiing JK, so, perhaps that should be first, though if you are already have excellent gear for JK, then go avenger. I took the avenger, because I already had a silent nightblade to go with it. Faust for gremlins and jellys, avenger for constructs and undead. Personally, it all depends if you do JK a lot or not.

I went DA first

Both of them are pretty great weapons for different monster types. The DA has a great charge attack, second only to the Levi's. But the Faust line can curse on normal swings, which is very useful. Plus, as jp12365 pointed out, it is nice for the Royal Jelly Palace.

Note though, 2-swing swords are a completely different play style and some people love it, some hate it. If you end up liking slow swords, you'll probably end up getting both. Personally, I started with DA since Undead graveyards bothered me. Not to mention all those mecha knights in arenas. The Vog Cub Set or Swiftstrike really help speed up the swings.

There were some great discussions that argued for both sides:

Faust may be a worthy investment.

With that "Ironclaw Munitions Factory" coming out, I'm guessing it may be worth it to stock up on shadow weapons right now. Because of this upcoming update, I'd recommend investing in a Faust, as it may just come in handy

Going with the Faust first

Going with the Faust first may make more sense since it'll more easily kick the crud out of JK its also easier to adjust to since its got a decent speed on it which the avenger lacks. You have to watch out for the Curse though, I was playing with some newbie who had no idea how to use a Faust which led to him constantly dieing and he couldn't even figure out why. Trust me when I say the Jelly Gems will stack up, at one point I had only 25 and I was still debating on which line I wanted to take for Antigua. Currently I haven't even bought Antigua and almost have 100 Jelly Gems.

Okay, how's this for a bit of

Okay, how's this for a bit of a different perspective- I have a Silent Nightblade with a Damage vs. Gremlin: Low UV. Does that affect things?

Also, Gun Puppy boss coming apparently? oO

Gun Puppy boss? I don't think

Gun Puppy boss? I don't think that even makes sense though its an interesting idea. The next boss is a Gremlin boss. And for your question regarding the Nightblade, read the 2nd post in the topic =D

I hear you want a faust?

I have a faust recipe I can sell for 10k basil price :D(reason i can't sell it on AH and it's really hard to sell for some odd reason... possibly because everybody probably has one or is too poor to afford it)

Nah, it's okay. I already

Nah, it's okay. I already have Faust, Gran Faust, and Avenger recipes. Not Divine Avenger, though. Good luck selling it. Maybe try the Bazaar board?

@ Yoshipatrol: Adder1's eyes glaze over. Derrrrrrrrp. Totally didn't see that. I suppose Avenger then since I have Silent Nightblade, unless anyone else has anything to suggest.

I was planning to get a Faust

I was planning to get a Faust when I just bought a Sealed Sword, but a few days later after I crafted a Nightblade, I decided to buy an Avenger recipe instead because Nightblade has nearly the same stats than Faust (exception: no curse, faster, less damage on each strike). I like the Nightblade very much because I am used to fast weapons so I am not planning to get a Faust until I get another Sealed Sword.
