Kilowatt Pulsar Bug

This weapon has elemental damage type. However, when the shots become larger at long distance, they deal normal damage.
As an example, against something weak to elemental, it dealt 19 damage at close range. But at long range, it dealt 18. This makes no sense since it's supposed to do more damage at long range.
I don't have the later weapons in the same line so I can't say if those have the same bug.

I noticed the same issue with the gun on use of the Kilowatt Pulsar, which is now also a Gigawatt.
I find it really illogical and counter intuitive that you should reduce the effectiveness of your gun just to reach maximal damage. I mean, it's the same bullet isn't it? Just bigger and prone to explosions.
At this point, I'm expecting the Polaris to do the exact same thing.
In the end, it's safe to say it's the same as the basic Pulsar line to Supernova. If it's gonna hit Normal, what's the sense?
All I want to know is if it really is a bug. If it's meant to be that way, then boo. (Maybe a method of keeping the Alchemers as the best elemental guns? Conspiracy theory!)

I'm guessing this is a copy paste error from the supernova. It doesn't really make sense to have the elemental gun dealing normal damage at longer ranges.

I saw this as well on the Kilowatt Pulsar. I would deal 29 damage to kats up close, then 25 from a distance. For a Chromalisk I did 7 damage up close and 26 from a distance.

T~T why can't anything be done right. bug is so frustrating, basically i can only use the charge to make sense of anything. this normal damage thing is annoying especially after chosing the path because it was elemental
For the record, this also happens on Polaris (5*).

They'd better change this or I will upgrade my Pulsar to Supernova instead.

Too late for me, already got a Polaris and I'm now broke from getting it. -_-

Ok i thought i was the only one but i guess Im not. Also did anyone notice the damage done buy Killa and Giga are the same damage delt if not very very slightly increased for Giga. My Killa was hitting 28 to 29 small and 13 14 to 15 large blast. Giga is hitting 32 to 33 small and 15 to 16 large and sometimes I hit 13 with it. Is that normal for it to be doing that? Whats Polaris hitting anyone know?

Another fix I should mention (but is much more negligible): shots fired from the pulsar line (or maybe just the Polaris) are off-center. It looks like they originate outside and to the side of the barrel.

Here's the damage comparison between a short-range and long-range shot against a Virulisk on D19:

The Reduced effectiveness of this gun is really quite disturbing, i mean 50 damage down to 40 that's just... weird

Nice to see they didn't fix this issue with that latest update. I'm beginning to think they meant for it to be that way.

Are you using the Giga in T2? Due to its status as a 4* weapon, it's not gonna hit maximum potential damage. 4* items qualify as T3 equips, so that's where they escape the 'nerf'.
I don't remember my damage values in T3... Maybe 50+?

That's not what we're talking about if you don't have one of these then you don't see what we're talking about -_- it's not maximum damage it's the fact that the expanded bullet does NORMAL damage as opposed to Elemental which it's SUPPOSE to do.

I've used the Polaris in FSC and I'm disappointed by the fact that the expanded normal shot does not do elemental damage (yet causes shock!?!) whereas the charge shot does the proper damage type.

Oh no I get what this whole thread is about, I have used the Kilowatt, and have the Gigawatt.
What I understand is that IceJester was pointing out the very slim difference in potential damage between the Kilo and Giga, which is justified by T2 reducing effectiveness of all high-end gear.

I would like to request a Admin or Game master to clarify if this is a bug, going to be fixed, or to all our dismay, meant to be this way. Please tell.

Like JP said are there any Admins or GMs here to let us know this will be fixed? Just a simple yes , would be nice.

I can confirm this is the wrong type of damage, it is fixed and ready for our next update.

Nice to hear, thanks for letting us know. :)
Can we get a release date for the patch out of you? xD

I upgraded my Pulsar to a Kilowatt and I found it does the same thing. Also, is it me or does the bigger bullets cause shock more often?

I've done a bit of experimenting, and yes, the larger bullets cause Shock much more often.
It's great to hear that this is going to be fixed; I can only hope it's soon that the patch comes.

but Indalecio is that you from Rapture?
Dunno how else to ask

I don't recall ever being associated with Rapture, so nope.

Oh sweet. So I stop checking the thread for a 'few' days, and when I come back, good news!
Very glad to hear confirmation :P
Just upgraded ot the Gigawatt Pulsar. It does the same thing.
