Which gear am i missing for the "perfect" character?
From what i heard around from most people Leviathan and horned owlite shield are all around the best sword and shield..
Of armor it sounds like Vog Cub Coat (and maybe the helmet?) are the best armor - especially for tier 3 where i guess all people want there gear headed towards?
Of guns it seems ass alchemers are the best (not the fire one cause of all the fire monsters in tier 3 eve though it deals most damage) Havent figuered out if it is the electric version which is most awesome yet?
And i am clueless about bombs???
Right now i want the best gear if you catch my drift and not the best weapons for different bosses and tiers...
Thank you in advance :)
The best gear as a what? swordsman? gunner? bomber?
As for armor choices, it depends on the tier.
@Bodies
You do know that shield stats only works when the shield bubble is actually up?
Guess i am an swordsman, but that can change if i find the pistols to be better but i doubt it?
I am aiming for tier 3 gear ..
Imo to do the max amount of dmg, then ud have to be able to do all 3 types of dmg and switch around between em depending on whatever ure up against.
Carry an elemental weap, a shadow weap, and a piercing weap.
For an Elemental weap, u got either a DA, or the brandish line.
For a Shadow weap, u got GF, or the brandish line.
For Piercing weap, you can use Flourish line, or the Barbarous blade.
If ure going for brandish line for the elemental id prob say make the Ice one since itll be useful in FSC unlike the fire one.
Allright but i need to figure out what armor and helmet suits owlite best and get the 5 star of those before i start making more weapons ..?
For a swordsman, go Vog you cant go wrong.
Afterwards, you can mix and match with other armors depending on what def you need.
Allright but the whole set or do i get to much fire and elemtal defence?

I'm planning to go for the Skolver Coat + either Divine Veil or Grey Feather Cowl.
As for shield and weapons, it's gonna be the Owlite Shield, Cryo Driver and either Levi Blade or Acheron.
What do you think, is it a good choice? ^^
Any downside I should know about?
@Themerchant
Get both set, its good and makes your DA swing faster. And for FSC, the fire and elemental def is very useful.
@Noctuelle
Divine Veil got no Normal Def, thats its biggest downside. You noticed how everytime u get hit, theres always a red bar flying around? thats cuz almost everything does normal dmg or normal dmg+sumthing else.
With Skolver + divine your def will be spread over 4 types.
With grey feather itll be over 3 types.
Theyre fine for general use i guess, but if you know where ure going, imo ure better off specializing. Like, Vog for FSC, or skolver for JK, etc.

The thing is (as you said), Divine Veil has no normal def., but has shadow def. While Gray Feather has normal, but no shadow.
Still can't decide what'd be more useful... Probably normal def., but the Shadow damage hurts so I think I could use some shadow def... Hmm...
As for Skolver vs. Vog Cub... I was originaly thinking about Vog Cub, but everyone has it so I'd like to try something different :D
On the other hand, fire resistance might be useful in more levels than frost resist.
I hate making decisions :D
yes
thats why my vog set has fire and shock resist
and my Sword Damage Bonus: Medium on my shield works all the time, right ???
@Noctuelle The problem with Divine Viel compared to Grey Feather is that is is swapping out Normal for Shadow. So let's say a T3 Zombie hits you and you are wearing Divine Viel, then the Shadow portion of their attack will do less damage but the Normal portion will do more - it might actually be an even trade. If you were wearing Grey Feather instead it would do more damage due to Shadow but less on the Normal side... but now you are wearing something with Normal Damage defense which is useful everywhere, not just for undead and fiends.
@Bodies
"and my Sword Damage Bonus: Medium on my shield works all the time, right ???"
Only when you're shielding.

How can sword dmg bonus aplly only when you're shielding, when we cannot attack with our shields up?
Darn, shields are so confusing :D
@ culture - true, true...
Ok, so one last question: Gray feather has -stun resist, while the Divine Veil doesn't have any negative stat.
How big a deal the lowered stun resist is?
thats an extra on dark thorn shield
i think you are wrong
There is no such thing as the best equips.
One equip may rock for FSC, but it would suck somewhere, where something else is better.
Why focus on Jelly king when its all about tier 3 in the end where the greatest rewards of them all should be? :)

Why focus on Jelly king when its all about tier 3 in the end where the greatest rewards of them all should be? :)
It depends on what's greatest reward for you. Personally I enjoy guns and none of the items one can buy with Almirian Seals sounds like a fun to me (until recently they've added Blackened Crest). That's why I had no motivation to visit Firestorm Citadel or build up gear for it. Now since there is Ironclaw Munition Factory I'm even less inclined to do FSC because there's lots of goodies for gunner-runner that I can buy only with Bark Modules. I've been to the Core several times, and I'm doing T3 runs sometimes to get 5* recipes I need, but mostly I enjoy T2. So it's not all about T3.
As for the "perfect" gear, I don't think one exists. You've mentioned Vog Cub set, but I don't find it useful at all. I tried it once but my Callahan became so slow that I had problems with even such easy enemies as wolvers on T3. Owlite shield is not bad but it protects against attacks that are easy to dodge anyway like gun puppies projectiles or lumbers' clubs - I prefer shields with shadow defense to protect myself against Greavers on T3.
I'm not saying Vog Cub or Owlite Shield are bad - they have their use on some levels for sure - I just don't think there is a perfect weapon/armour*
*unless you put your hands on The Ban Stick and Indigo GM Armour ;-)
Negative stun resist isn't problematic. Instead of being stunned 4-5 seconds it'll be 8 seconds or so. Just walk it off :)
@Noctuelle
Just make both of them and use one for costume.
@merethif
Vog is actually one of the best armor to use as a swordsman.
If ure a gunner, i think the better one would be either nameless for ASI or shadowsun for DMG.
As for shields the stats on it works only when its up as in, its def and resists.
But things like bonus dmg would prob be in effect at all times otherwise its just pointless dun u think?
Also i guess when choosing shields it depends on what kind of attacks u are having problem with.
Maybe merethif is having problems with greavers since hes a gunner, but me as a swordsman have no prob with them since i can knock em back with my DA besides shield bashing. I guess it depends.
i know that the Vog Cub set and owlite shield isn't the best pair
they both have fire resist and elemental defence
i am going for the Vog Cub set with an extra UV on both (high shock resist) --> i got the 4* version
i didn't go for the owlite shield because i already have fire and shock resist and elemental defence
i am going for the Barbarous Thorn Shield for the piercing defence and Sword Damage Bonus: Medium
