Okay so, I would LOVE to have maybe a female version of many of these outfits. I know robots genderless whatever. But I would love to actually look like a girl. I'm not talking about oh the valkerie helm, you kinda look like a girl.

no. I want something that IS girly, besides the original spiral helm with pigtails.

Three rings, please help my character feel girly again... and I'm tired of being called dan. -_-

Or another way to fix this

Robots? I thought the Spiral Knights are Bionic beings. They remind me of matoran from Bionicle!
Or another way to fix this problem is to add boobs to the female characters! <3 :D

There should be a update on the game. Anyone who made characters before the update will have to decide either or not if their Spiral Knight is a female or male.

I have that equipped now but I'm tired of wearing the same old thing. I'm a lady and I want to look like a lady. I want to wear some sort of rose regelia that may look a bit more feminine like the hat could be a bit more fluffy or something. floppy?

lol the character doesn't necessarily have to have boobs.. rofl. But the female characters could have a bit more of a feminine shape to it without overdoing the or even putting in boobs.

and if i wear 0 star costume stuff I always get like... oh my goodness you're in fsc with zero star. no you goofy person. OBVIOUSLY it's costume.

I want my bionic being/robot to actually look like a girl.

If you don't want to be

If you don't want to be called Dan, you could just tell your pals you'd rather be called Jen. This really isn't about your character, it's about people abbreviating your name to the first few characters. You could look like the most female, feminine bionic being in the world and you'll still be called Dan.

(I usually get called Bum)

Hm

I agree. Personally, I'm, a guy,but I'd also like to know how to refer to others. Tired of asking: 'dude or dudette?'

It'd help, and I'm sure a lot of other female players want to be recognised as well.

*why do people always HAVE to associate girls with...whatever perverted stuff they can think of? ^_- Kinda creepy...

The emberbreak and firebreak

The emberbreak and firebreak helms are pretty girly. I think the ember/frost/circuit breaker armours are also somewhat on the girly side. You could also try holding your breath until they bring back the Magikat Hat.

Then there's the virulisk set, which is entirely appropriate for a girl to wear as we all know that they're riddled with highly infectious cooties.

Of course there's also the lovely bombhead mask, but the less said about that, the better...

That reminds me, actually: Are the images on the wiki correct for the blizzbreaker and blazebreak helms? They look like they were just copypasta from the surge breaker helm.

If they add girly stuff, they should be some cheap or free costumes, else we'd have to duplicate every armor to be fair with both sexes.

Armors wouldn't change it

Armors wouldn't change it would simply be character based. The only thing really needing to be done would be added character models for female characters. Honestly, not the most hardest thing to do, but definitely time consuming to draw up new armor sets for girls.

Or you could roll with simply separated armor each unique from their opposite sex. Male armor for instance could do extra piercing while female could have extra elemental.

It depends on what three rings makes of it (if they do anything at all with all our suggestions we post on a daily basis).

2 cents dumped.

The problem is, if it's not girly it's going to be a guy.

Manly = Guy
Boy-Like = Guy
Neutral = Guy
Feminine = Girl

Not to also mention guys usually think with their second head, which is hilariously stupid, but as you can see here through the obvious trolls it seems to add up as true.

Now, as a guy, I respect the fact that females should have their right to look like a girl. Perhaps the game should have a costume shop. A quick shop full of basic costumes for crowns. Nothing big, or fancy, but overall a basic shop to give all players, new and old, something to consider their funding towards. It would also allow more style and combinations in the game, and hopefully in a way that we don't have to blow out CE from our anus's.

Besides, if you guys want characters to have a large "pair" on both their front and back you'd have to consider every armor in this game getting a revamp to become feminine, which would be very annoying to do for the creators.

Then again, battle ready dress for you girly girls out there would be rather silly. You have to realize this isn't soul caliber. You can't swing a sword around in a bra and panties with your cleavage showing while you wear your amazing edible g-strips as you blush saying "Stop thinking so perverted you silly boys~~~<3!!" as you swing your hot dog swords around. Although it may be feminine, it's going to be armor. I'm not saying you don't understand that concept, I'm just stating it.

Yeah my name does shorten to

Yeah my name does shorten to dan and I tell people all the time to call me Jen. My entire guild can tell you my battle with this. Which is why if you're in a haven with me and milkman he always picks on me by calling me dan, because if you read my name OBVIOUSLY my name is jen. But no, people are lazy and don't do that. lol.

I'm not asking for big breasts and booty but something with a bit more of a feminine touch, like maybe putting in some sort of hair thing, or like the armor being a bit more shaped like a woman. Maybe make the guys shoulders a bit broader while making the girls shoulders a bit smaller and adding just some sort of feminine curves (not boobs or cleavage) just some shape and style to it to be recognized. I want to wear some pretty five star gear for once.

I'm also not big on them spending a lot of time on costumes and what not so I'm not asking for all new costumes to come out, just that we can have some updates on the female characters in some way.

Oh and gwen that's okay because I'm a pervert too. Just know that's not what this thread is about, and not the reason I created it.

yeah.. and

some armors also make ppl confuse guys with girls... i mean, i've got a friend that uses crown of the fallen, and it's the only armor he has so everyone thinks he's a she because of it looks like a dress... why having to avoid getting armors like valkyrie helm, crown of the fallen, radiant silvermail and firebreak helm to just look like a man?(or a girl)

i never know what to write up here

maybe instead of choosing ur gender, u could have it in alchemy! like the drake scale family:
Wyvern scale (male looks)
Drake scale----<
Silvermail (female looks)
(of course that might be a problem if ur a female and need a piercing/ fire defense for FSC or a male needing good armor for lockdown[cuz BTB and Acheron have been killing hundreds of #cough#furries#cough#cough# vog cubbers lately], but thats what the ''equip as costume'' option is there for, isnt it?
yeah, btw, anyone noticed that silvermail looks a lot lyke seraphic?
soooo, thats it, i guess

Once again... i'm not saying

Once again... i'm not saying make it sexual. They could change the costumes making some for girls that aren't sexual at all. That's what I'm referring to.

i do NOT want sexual robots, save that for other more obnoxious games.

just a bit more feminine. So please don't make obnoxious comments about guys having bulges because they want to look more manly... this thread is not about selling sex. I just want to look like a female in some of my outfits is all instead of being limited to just a few things.

sorry

I understand why girl players would like this, but I do see why creating a gender gap through costumes could be a problem. It would be too easy to sexuallify the costumes, and, anyway a one-size-fits-all approach to clothing their knights even makes sense in-universe. I understand your reasoning, but I also see all the problems it couldcause, and Ibelieve you've seen such comments in this very thread. Lets face it, things could 'spiral' out of control pretty easily.

Wyvern scale has kinda male or female looks, I dunno. I'm a guy, but it suits me since I've got skinny wimpy arms and legs, like a malnourished rodent. I guess we could have more effeminite costumes, but it should stay close to the one size fits all deal. Hey, more armor can't hurt though, sexist swines >:D

Honestly I think the whole game is already pretty girly, on the grand scale of gaming. The only armor sets that read remarkably masculine to me are the gunslinger hats and maybe the demo suits.

I simply said that what people percieve as a guy or a girl will vary based on what they percieve as masculinity or femininity. Meaning the problem of if someones a guy/girl will still be there, unless the fact its a girl is quite obvious

Bt, yeah, I'm getting kinda tired of the constant sexual refs already. JUST STOOOOOOOOP!

ty

Some way of gender distinction would help, I just hope this doesn't lead to sexism...

'see, THIS is why you don't give girls swords...'
'guys always just run into places without thinking...'
'guys are to lazy to anything other than kill stuff...'
'girls are too scared to kill monsters properly...'

etcetc! (examples, don't actually believe any of these or such things myself :P)

Agreed

Sex based models. When you make your character at the start of an account. There should be an option:

Pick Your Sex (or gender, since sex isn't a g-rated word, for some puritans out there):

_ Male // Slightly more muscle tone, and a little taller.
_ Female // Slightly more curvy and a little shorter.
_ Other/Disclosed // Character model that's already in use.

Then the armor that you can can essentially be a skin for the character model. The other option would be in place for the players who don't want to disclose their sex or just don't care to give their character model a sex. Sounds fair to me.

Sounds good

So a Template, which the armour is technically 'stretched' over, so doesn't need massive changes? Ok.

I kno what the other context for 'sex' is, but some people can't help but think of the other way...

<--Uses Firebreak set as a costume for his character a bit much

<--and as of lately since he doesn't have Angelic Raiment but he has the Angelic Helm he often uses the scarf starter armor as an armor costume whenever he has to use said helm. It looks like it's wearing a ponytail and a sweater yay.

Let's see...

you can't get the Spiral tailed helm unless you chose it when you're making a character (and there IS such a thing as changing your mind).
the Angelic/Valkyrie stuff's only available later in the game.
The Drake/Wyvern/Scale stuff only have armors that looks feminine (though for some odd reason there is no way to go from the Spiral Scale Mail to the rest of them in spite of blatant visual similarity).
The Emberbreak line's helmet stops being feminine when you fully upgrade it to the Blazebreak Helm.
Some Cobalt line helms have ponytails but somehow end up looking masculine/neutral rather than feminine overall. and Kozma seems to have a tailed cobalt helm.

Did I miss anything?

Yeah, we should probably get more "female" looking armor or costumes, probably the latter (not that there's anything really stopping you from using one of the existing "feminine" armors/helms as a costume except that it's kinda... uneconomical?)

Though if we get them they'll probably end up as being rather joke-y or silly for the setting of the game.

...Can I get my character an armor that has a giant waist ribbon on it?

And if we're going to do the "slight changes to model" thing, can we get something of a range of body types rather than simply 1 for each gender, if we're really going to be that character-centric? and a range of eye shapes too?

from what I can see the only changes that need to be made to the current Knight model to impart it any kind of gender appearance is to broaden it at the shoulders for "guys" and at the bottom for "girls"

On a slightly more serious note, I used to think (maybe still do) that Kozma was male. Is there something that confirms that (s)he is canonically a female?

Maybe there should just be an option to show one's gender when inspected. GENDER: MALE/FEMALE or some such.

There have been some awesome

There have been some awesome suggestions that I could go for. Like character shape options with the gear being more of a skin type thing. I really like that idea. I could go for that. I do like the option for a neutral character for those that don't care/ or don't want to share their gender.

I just want some pretty costumes and some gender distinction. Also, I'm not worried about a gender gap, the fact that everyone thinks I'm a guy just because I play an online game is enough of a gender gap for me right now. I want to have girl power and show... girls exist on the internet and yes girls play games too.

lol. I just dont' want to oversexualize the characters where it looks like robot pron, but i don't want to undersexualize where we look like what we are now. The characters are cute and adorable I love them. I just want to show some gender.

To whoever said they think this game is girly... you're probably right. I first saw this game and I immediately went.... AAAAW SO CUTE! I WANT. so... based on that reaction. It is a pretty girly game, but at the same time... i'm the only girl in my guild right now. Out of almost 60 members... i'm the only girl. rofl.
