The Best Weapons for Starters

I have tried every single 0-1 star weapon, and I am trying to decide what is the best weapon to choose. A major factor in getting a new weapon is knockback. Proto armor can't protect you from much, so knocking monsters back can really help. That is why Hatchets and Heavy Hatchets are quite good. I have made many new characters, and the first thing I think of buying is a Heavy Hatchet. Otherwise, I recommend the Bolted Blade, which is an upgraded proto sword. Surprisingly, the Proto Sword is actually pretty good. Most MMO's start you off with a weapon intolerably bad. The proto sword is not a horrible blade, and has average speed and damage. My recommendation for Swords are the Heavy Hatchet and Bolted Blade.

Now for guns. Guns are hard to use, thus the starter needs some skill to wield it effectively. The proto gun is absolutely horrible, and is sort of like your baby sister trying to hit you. That lame. I like the Zapper, and it is very cheap on the AH. (I Sold hundreds of them for 500 cr). Super stun guns are also good, because they can protect you by stunning the monsters. The only 0 star gun that I recommend is the punch gun. Even though the punch gun does extremely low damage and is very slow, you deal knockback, and the charge attack is Ok. (The gun is only 150 cr anyway!).

Bombs? Not only do you have to be extremely skilled in wielding them, the options are very limited. Therefore I do not recommend any 0-1 star bombs for starters. Still interested? Get the firecracker. That is the best 0-1 star bomb. Any suggestions?

Suggestion

Yeah, i have a very common suggestion : skip any 0-1* item and go directly to 2*, choosing something that will upgrade to 5*. 0 and 1* items are a waste of money (the only case it is not is if you want to play T1 Lockdown).

Really, i can't image why you went through the pain of testing every 0 and 1* weapon, instead of reading any beginner guide, which all state that you should ignore anything below 2*.

Why would you waste your money on 1* gear anyway when you can get all 2* in couple of days?

Fradow beat me to it :D

Two star items

I don't see what you mean by "pain". I have been a 5 star character before, getting such a cheap item is nothing. Besides, the proto sword/gun does so little damage it feels like you are using a blunted butter knife. I agree, two star items are MUCH better than 1 star, but I think it is better to get one star first. And what with the crashed AH market! Why not? 500 cr for a nice improvement in damage and speed?

Fradow is right, its useless

Fradow is right, its useless getting something below 2*, and best 2* set would be wolver set owlite shield calibur and am alchemer
thats what i hade as my 1st 2* set, caliburs knockback is really usefull for starters and alchemers would grant them some status ans elemental damage

Yes, calibur is great (I

Yes, calibur is great (I think Brandish is better). Owlite is the best 2 star shield in the game. Wolver is great. But when 1 star items are so cheap, and you are fresh out of rescue camp, I think getting a 1 star item is not bad. Besides, the earlier you get knockback the better. Then you can survive longer until you can afford 2 star armor.

I said the pain because i don't find those weapon really enjoyable. They are not powerful nor pretty, and don't have cool effects.

Yes, getting 1* items is bad. Think about it that way : in a run (60 energy) you make at least 2K. For 2K, you can have a 2* item at AH. So you'll have 4 2* item in 2 days and a half. Furthermore, 1* items don't allow you to go in tiers 2 (where the real profit is), and you will probably not use any after having 2*. They are an entire waste of money.

I don't understand your point about knockback. If you are worried about getting hit, get a better shield and/or learn to use it. This is the first time i saw someone stating knockback as the major reason to get a weapon.

Knockback is important for starters. That is like a form of defense.

I see you are probably more interested in two star equipment. I shall post something about that.

Calibur and Fire or Prisma

Calibur and Fire or Prisma tech.

Later upgrade the calibur and get a pulsar or upgrade your Prisma tech.

End game:
Now you have a Leviathan blade and a polaris or Nova Driver.. All useful and no wasted CE.

calibur line for sword and

calibur line for sword and i'd for a gun uuuh... i used the voltech (but after that i got the pulsar and made it into a gigawatt because of knockback and 3 shots unlike the voltech's 2 shot)

brandish is also prety good (brandish can be upgraded to elemental/shadow)

but read these and take your pick ;)

also bolted blade sucks because you can't upgrade it (if you want something simular take voltedge from the brandish line)

No blaster

No, blaster is not fine. It ends up as a mediocre 5* weapon (Valiance) which is outperformed by a lot of 4* guns.
Going Alchemers or Pulsar is a really much better option.

Even if 1* stuff is worth 500

Even if 1* stuff is worth 500 each on average, that still delays the trip to Tier 2. A calibur or brandish is lower than 1800 right now, thats worth less than 1 snarbo run (from the first stage, I can estimate it at 3300cr). Snarbo is easy enough that a party of proto-wielding hooligans can do it. (Can be soloed in proto too, but that's quite a feat for a new player.)

4 runs and you already have a 2* sword, armor, helm, shield + cash and tokens left over.

Never waste money on 0* or 1* weapons

Hello. It seems that you are having some trouble on weapons. I have a Faust, industrial catalyser and a venom striker. They are very good weapons. I think you should start with a caliber or a cutter. Then start going on missions. Then soon you will earn a blaster and a caliber. The blaster has good knockback, same as calibur. They are the best combination for great knockback. I used to have a master blaster and the Dmg was unbeleivable! I has another suggestion. Shocking edge. The weapons is just like a shockburst brandish 3* and the shocking edge does some crazy damage!

Hello. It seems that you are having some trouble with reading. Read the date of the post above yours. They are very old. I think you should start reading the post dates of previous posts before posting.

Skip 0*-1* unless they are mission rewards. Go right to 2*.

Most of the time, you can get a Brandish and a Flourish for about 1000 crowns (2*). You can get a full Wolver set (2*) for about 1000 per piece as well. For the shield, I suggest just farming Snarby with the Force Buckler that you get from the missions. Once you get 10 tokens from Snarby, you'll probably be able to afford the equipment listed above, as well as get a Bristling Buckler from the token trader.

I find it better to suggest

I find it better to suggest armor and let people find their own weapon playstyle.

Wolver + demo (spread out weapon buffs keeps the ball in your court, plus you have normal defense, so your armor will always be partialy effective)

Angelic + drake (covers for not having peircing weapon/all four defenses and posin and curse ressist, so you always are dealing damage)

Full chroma (has slime bonus and takes on volcanic attributes at only 4*, good for people who want to start grinding JK or FSC ASAP)
