Add option to unbind costume items

As many of you should know, once a costume piece is bound, there is no way to unbind it. Currently, the solution that OOO is using is to give the items to players unbound, so they may sell it if they wish. now this is fine, but occasionally they forget to give the items unbound (as with the plasmatech set), and obviously players cannot sell their costumes once bored of them.

now the obvious solution is to add an unbind costume ticket right? Well no, because that would cause many problems: the plasmatech set was obtained when you bought a specific deal on CE, and that deal was really a bargain (it was the only time I've ever bought CE, and now I'm waiting for another incentive, but that's irrelevant). if an unbinding option was present, people could have bought the deal on ce, used some of the ce to unbing the set, waited until roughly a week after the event was over, and sold the set for mass profits. So if we wan't to do this, the question is: how do we stop something like this from happening? Well I happen to have 2 options:

1) make it expensive. if it took a ridiculous amount of CE to unbind a costume, it would be a lot harder to make a profit.
pros:
+easy to implement if set at a fixed rate
+will definately discourage some people
+highest profit for OOO (the people who try to make profit and the people who buy from them would both be spending massive amounts of CE,
even if it doesnt go back to their pocket a player who loses CE is a player who needs to buy more CE)
cons:
-easy to get around; sell the costumes at a higher price than the unbinding cost
-defeats the purpose of being able to unbind
-People WILL complain (see rant threads about energy, lockboxes, etc. for proof); largest amount of complaining
-Costume deals would essentially all need to have the same price if there was a fixed rate due to gaining a different amount of CE with the set

2) add an unbinding delay. make it so that a costume item cannot be unbound until roughly 2-3 months after the event is over.
Pros:
+most players don't tend to take the long view, and won't bother with trying to make a large profit here
+the price could be lower, making the response from the players better
+It could be set up that they aren't unbound until the next CE event, drawing more buyers in
Cons:
-players could still be making a tidy profit if they choose to take the long view
-complaints about the delay (even though it was impossible before)(see rant threads about prize wheel for proof)

those are the two i've come up with, if you happen to have any suggestions to how they could be tweaked, or have your own options, feel free to share (I know mine are by no means perfect)

3rd Option: NO

Costumes are ment to be bound to you because if you could just unbind when ever you wanted costumes would be worth less. Also not be as fun to own them. Maybe if you don't want a costume, don't get it.

A better option is CE packs with or without the costume for people like you.

@INGAEON

I AGREE WITH YOU IGNAEON, I WANT A UNBIND COSTUME OPTION ALSO, HOWEVER THAT WOULD DEPREIATE THE VALUE OF THEM AND MOST PLAYERS WOULD GET MAD. I HAVE EVERY SET BUT I WOULD NOT MIND THIS OPTION, IT WOULD GIVE ME MORE ITEMS TO TRADE AROUND AND SELL. IF IT WAS UP TO ME I WOULD CREATE A UNBIND OPTION FOR EVERYTHING.

@buzz bomb

...What? who said that I did not want costumes? I had wore a costume for a while, now I would rather sell it and get a different one using the ce. yes, the amount that would suddenly be available would depreciate the value among players slightly, which would be countered by the fact that IT WOULD COST CE TO UNBIND THE COSTUMES; if people still wanted to make a profit, the would need to sell them for MORE, but have to be competitive with their pricing since the market would be flooded. In fact, option 1 involves charging a ridiculous amount to unbind, which would probably drive the prices up (which is one of the reasons I stated it as likely causing alot of complaints). so, ignoring that fact, it is somewhat stupid of you to complain about depreciation of value of an item that, once bound, CANNOT BE SOLD; if you can't sell it, or if none are on the market, who cares about it's value. the only logical explanation is that you are one of those people who "take the long view"; you currently have a large amount of unbound costumes and are waiting until there is no-one else left in the market and you can charge outrageous prices. I mean no offence by this, but it is the only logical reason i can come up with for your opposition to this idea, seeing as the players as a whole will benefit.

If you still disagree with me, please go into more detail with your argument.

tl, dr;

No it won't, and even if it would, the only people who benefit from the current system are people who hoard costumes to have a monopoly on them at a later date, and such a person is being selfish due to the benefits of this.

Bump

Bump due to no one giving a good reason not to be, and because i seem to be being ignored. I won't bump again if someone can definitively prove to me that this idea is either bad or unlikely to happen.

Alright, here you go: Certain

Alright, here you go: Certain costume items are incentives for people to spend money on the game. The Rose Regalia and Plasmatech sets are bonus items awarded to paying customers; unbinding them would allow them onto the open market to be bought for Crowns, reducing their effectiveness as a lure to buy CE.

I see...

I feel quite stupid for not seeing the CE market than way, Effrul. But I don't think Rose/Plasmatech can be unbound, Correct me if I'm wrong.

NPCs buy costumes at 1cr if you get bored of them :D

Considering all costumes are actually gifts that come with energy purchases, you're not buying them directly, it's totally not a loss.

I fully support this because I am rich in Krogmo Coins and I accidently spent the same amount of KC's for the same bombheads. It was very disgusting and stupid for what I've done
