One thing I've noticed that other games have is give weapons a chance to critical hit. By this I mean give weapons a chance to do 2x or even 4x damage, for example. Now, we already have weapons that give status ailments, and a whole lot of em, too. What about some weapons that don't give any status at all has a chance of criticalling? If this would be added to the Iron Slug, which is absolutely useless at the time, then it would have a chance of doing a lot of damage to anything. This could possibly be do even more damage then a Callahan against fiend/beast, to make it useful.
Just as an example, let me show you what I mean in data format.
--The Heavy Pulsar(deals normal damage) does X damage normally.
--Adding something like "Slight chance of causing Minor Critical" would
add a chance(not too small) to do maybe X1.5 more damage.
--The Radiant Pulsar(next gun in the line) would do Y damage.
--Adding "Good chance of causing Moderate Critical" would have a better chance
of criticalling than the last gun, and criticalling would do Y2.
I'm not saying anything in this post has to be exactly how it would be in the game, (if it gets implemented) I'm just giving some examples.
