Extremely low graphics setting?

I don't care at all about a game's graphics. I care about the gameplay. Right now I play Tier 2, and when I solo I find myself dying often not because I'm not skilled or anything but because I will lag for a few seconds and then suddenly I will be in the middle of a pit of spikes. I'm worried that by the time I get to Tier 3, the lag will make it unplayable because it gets hard. I recently followed along in a firestorm citadel run with my guild so I could leech some crowns and heat, and I died on the rolling wheel things 3 times because I lagged too much.

I'm not talking about internet-connection lag. My computer is 4 years old. It's a Macintosh (enough said...). It's not very good. I can run SK fairly well, but in certain areas it just completely lags up to the point where it's unplayable, especially in arenas and such and places where there's a lot of mobs in a small area, which is actually where I need it to lag the least.

So my suggestion is that there should be an extremely low graphics setting, where there's only the most basic textures and lighting. That's all I need. This would open SK up to more people, which means more money from people buying deals. I know a lot of people who want to play this game but can't because their computers aren't very good.

absolutely agree.

well not absolutely, cuz i do care about good looking graphics.
BUT the pretty simple game lags like no other when it's a full party and/or when there's a huge mob (eg. arena). Especially arenas too, since that's when you need to not lag the most.

If it's the graphic, wouldn't

If it's the graphic, wouldn't you notice freezes and stutter instead of 'lag'

Also there may be other implications, like the developers don't want to make the game super ugly because they want the graphics to meet a certain standard, or the engine limitations idk.

This is also something that I

This is also something that I would concur with. I play this on a netbook at the moment, and it would be great if there was a low graphics setting that turned off some of the particles, etc (snow levels are the worst!)

@OP:

I recently got a PC which runs this game uber smoothly, but on my older laptop, Low/High Graphics settings made little difference. The only obvious differences are the animated crowns, fog, and maybe some other small differences.

I think the differences between the graphics settings are too small to make much of an impact in your Frames-Per-Second; most games have a "Minimum" graphics setting for this reason.

This game needs said setting because it boasts being playable on almost any PC you can think of.

Agree. I changed my graphics

Agree. I changed my graphics to low and honestly could not see a difference. They need to make low actually low.

I think the graphics setting

I think the graphics setting also effects only the background, bar a few other things.
