Hi,

Just a few simple, hopefully easily implementable suggestions for OOO to consider. Compared to most of the other suggestions I see, these are not so much creative as they are what I feel would be some very practical implementations.

1. Allow guildmates to spectate during Guild PvP events, much the same way as when you die in Lockdown, your screen automatically follows the person that killed you. Of course this would have to be limited to only your guild and not the opposing team to prevent ghosting. It could be implemented simply by adding a "Spectate" option to the right click menu. Spectators would not be able to contribute to in game chat, but /g would still be allowed, for cheering.

2. Have a second window that pops up at login behind the standard OOO announcement page for guild related announcements/message of the day. This would allow GMs and officers to inform members of upcoming events, or if they have an external bulletin board, links to important posts.

3. Less critical if the message of the day feature is implemented, but still handy to have would be an in game forum/bulletin board for guild members to have discussions with other guildmates. Would be very useful for posting of things like guild rules, or tutorials for newer players.

Cheers,
Thrill

@OP:

+1 to Guild PvP Spectating,

-1 to Guild MOTD, sounds like WoW and a bulletin board would be better anyway.

+1 to Bulletin Board in your Guild Hall...

The purpose of the

The purpose of the MOTD/announcements page is so that members who may not otherwise take the effort to actively check the bulletin board are informed of the select few things that are of particularly high importance.

Err...

If a guildmate is too lazy to check his Bulletin Board once in a while, then it's his fault for missing an event.

If a normally inactive Bulletin Board were there, then it'd be up to the Officers/GM(s) to inform their guildmates.

If you added an announcements page that popped up upon login, where would you put it? I mean good grief the whole screen is taken up already with log-in pop-ups. I don't know that people would actually read such a pop-up; it'd simply become another nuisance and be closed immediately.

Anyway, it takes like 30 seconds to check the Bulletin Board, not sure why anyone wouldn't "take the effort" to do that.

I've had enough with people

I've had enough with people spamming me with messages/requests as soon as I log in. I'd rather have the choice to check the bulletin board in my own time, rather than another annoying slow-loading window that appears when I log in.

Sev: It would be behind the normal popup, or incorporated into it.

Hex: It's what, 2-5 seconds of your time? First world problems. If you're not prepared to accept everything that comes with joining a guild, then don't join one.

I was actually just talking

I was actually just talking about the first one. I would really love this because I still don't have great gear for T3 lockdown so my guild does it a lot without me but I still want to be able to watch them.

@Aemicus:

Err..you never said anything but good to know you're talking about the first one. xD

@Thrill: It's not the 2-5 seconds to close it, it's however long it takes to load it. Like the current News pop-up on log-in usually (for whatever reason) takes a while to load.

Anyway, I prefer Guildmates to be responsible for their own stuff, not babied into everything. I'm still definitely on the side of Bulletin Boards. If they lack the initiative to simply check the Bulletin Board, then like I said before, why should they be informed?

@Sev Haha, I didn't mean on the forums, I was talking about it to my guild while they were playing a gvg game. Sorry for the confusion.

@Severage

Yes. Thanks. The promotion window has always been quite clumsy for me. Especially one time when I opened my mailbox before it had started opening. I accepted and deleted all my mail from the first one, closed the window, then wondered why my mail had reappeared in the second window. Tried to delete them and got unexpected server errors.

@Hex:

That happens to me a lot. I always click the Mail button upon logging in, but then the News thing pops up, and I have two mail windows open. My PC and internet aren't slow, but the UI is sluggish to bring up the events page. Sluggish enough that I can quickly go and click the mail icon before it opens.
