What Bombers Want/Need

so.. yes I'm a bomber, and I'm excited i recently obtained my Mercurial Demo set ^^

I've been thinking ... i think its about time bombers got a little bit of diversity-to-choice so i thought of a little something!!

as far as gear goes, bombers are pretty fortunate, compared to gunners especially :( poor gunners need some love

BUT really as you may know, bombers need a little diversity in WEAPONS primarily DPS weps

Piercing:
-ISB is okay , enough, but could use shorter charge to match up with RSS
-RSS is good for piercing and good for elemental, making this bomb basically an essential for bombers, but making it a shard bomb kind of disconnects the classic AOE bomb, which makes me sad
-DBB is an amazing piercing weapon, its AOE, and good charge time so theres clearly no need for more piercing bombs :D

Elemental:
-Mist/Haze bomb lines are awesome!! but they are.. face it .. not DPS bombs.. they are strictly team support, and excel at that!
-RSS is a great elemental bomb, but again its a shard bomb, which is sometimes more risky to use
-Electron vortex is an AMAZING support bomb ! ..... but still .. not good DPS :/
-and ... thats it? phew, even gunners get more option than this :P my opinion is to make Deconstructor Elemental damage.. and maybe a penalty against undead, to make it best on construct

Shadow:

..........
...
Gravitron charge .... good for support, but widely outclassed by the shock-inducing counterpart, seeing as this bomb isn't for DPS but rather for crowd control and support, making shock the best option

and thats it :| that is truly sad

hopefully something new comes out for King Tinkinzar boss rewards, like a crimson bomb, shadow damage? or a bone barrage even?

Normal:
-Nitronome: it is a good all around bomb, knock back is decent and it works well on all enemies, but can be just a hassle in parties, cause for slower and harder killing :/
-Irontech: not an option, greatly outclassed by nitronome :( such a small radius
-BAB:.... pleease fix this bomb >_< it needs the biggest radius, biggest knock back, most damage, keep the walk speed decrease, and make it have a longer fuse and charge.. then it'll be like an, emergency bomb, like if you find yourself in a room full of gremlin demos and quicksilvers ... having them stunned and at all sides of the screen sure would help~

Haze bombs aren't good DPS?

Haze bombs aren't good DPS? Since when? I must be mistaken when I blow through the final wave of an arena in about 2 minutes with my VT or Firey Atomizer... :/

But yeah, we need a decent Elemental and Shadow blast/offensive bomb, at this point the only decent one that causes constant elemental damage and is predictable aside from dem shards is the VT. I personally imagine the elemental being a large vortex of light a la the Polaris explosion that acts like a DBB (no knockback)

Shadow could perform similarly, but I haven't put any thought into it.

Deconstructer should be

Deconstructer should be elemental with a Low Construct bonus, just like how they worked the AP and Sentenza. AND SHADOW BOMB. NEED SHADOW BOMB!

Yes, but...

Didn't AP/Sentenza get medium bonuses for the 5*? Either way, I agree with this. As someone who's mainly a bomber, I'd like to have more bombs. A DBB-style bomb for elemental and shadow damage would be great!

Maeko does have a point in that bombers can do some DPS through status, but I find DBB to be much more fun than letting status do all the damage.

Well...

Graviton Vortex is a 5* shadow bomb, but I know what you mean. FINALLY! A SHADOW DPS BOMB!!

...that can only be obtained by paying real money. Splendid.

How about reinventing bomber armor?

While bombers could use greater bomb variety, I also think our armor could use a bit of diversity as well. Every single set of bomber armor is Normal/Elemental, yet Wolver gear gets one set per damage type. Even GUNNERS have a wide array of defense potential. With Volcanic, Mad, Mercurial, and Bombastic, some changes could easily be made to allow bombers similar paths of damage resistance... but if changes were to happen at all, they should at least start with the highly unpopular Bombastic Demo.

I think the Bombastic Demo should get different bonuses to compensate for its mediocre stats (and general unpopularity among bombers). The following are three unique suggestions for enhancing the Bombastic Demo set: better status severity, hit-stun invulnerability, and dynamic damage resistance.

Better status severity
>How about granting a bonus to the severity of status a player can inflict while wearing Bombastic Demo? Increasing from Minor to Moderate statuses and Moderate to Strong ones.

Hit-stun invulnerability
>I don't think hit-stun invulnerability is present in this game yet, but it sounds like just the thing Bombers could take advantage of. I couldn't count how many times I've failed to plant a bomb because I'm attacked right as I drop it. (The ancient plate mail could benefit from this as well)

Dynamic damage resistance
>While it may be a little more radical of an idea, how about making Bombastic Demo resistant to the type of damage a player is capable of dealing (based on equipped weapons); having 3/4 a bar of normal defense by default, but an additional 3/4 of a bar split equally among the player's damage types.
