Dunno if this is in the right spot or not. New to these forums.

As most of you should know, recently the Dark Retribution has been nerfed not once, but twice.
This is why I think they should really have done it better, being nerfed less, both crimson weapons
nerfed; etc.

It really is stupid to have had it nerfed this bad.
It should really be inbetween what it is now, and what it used to be.
Along with that, nerfing the Warmaster Rocket Hammer the same amount as the Dark Retribution.
It's basically a 4* now. People asked for a decent shadow damaging bomb.
We get it and it gets nerfed this bad shortly after?

Why do what people ask if you make what they want terrible?
Not only has this made alot of players angry after being happy with getting something they want.
Some players I know bought this expansion mission for the Dark Retribution, me included.
Sure, Some people like the Warmaster Rocket Hammer, some don't.
But seriously, why nerf it?
Even if it was the old speed with this damage, it could work.

All these arguments over it, people hating the Warmaster Rocket Hammer because it didnt get
nerfed like the Dark Retribution.
The in-game description says The perfected version of the shadowy bomb that Warmaster Seerus
engineered with the SOLE purpose of eliminating other gremlins that stood in his way.
It is thought to have been reserved for use against other members of the CRIMSON ORDER.
With all the nerfing the Dark Retribution doesnt deserve that description if it is as crappy as it is now.

Seriously, Three Rings. People have gotten this expansion pack just for it, and wasted it.
Don't you see this will make people less likely to buy the expansion pack?
Please, take this into consideration. Nerfing the Rocket Hammer series as much as the Dark Bomb
series will only make this worse.

I'm sure alot of others will agree with this, do something sensible about it. Please.

from a Bomber's perspective

Trust me, that bomb really needed to be nerfed. But from what i hear, it does half the damage and half the speed as before. from what I remember, i was doing 150's or so on the gremlins per hit. I could easily hit them for 6-7 times, this doing much more damage than it should be. HOWEVER I strongly disagree with the speed nerf. I think the damage was OP, but the speed made it easier to deal with mobs. I haven't used the new version of the bomb, but before it was nerfed, I was seriously getting annoyed with gunners and swordies with no bomb gear at all using it as a primary weapon for everything.

PS it was still almost garbage on any shield gremllin. So it was never designed to kill gremlins. The description was never true. I was still using DBB for a lot of the places that were swarmed with thwackers and rocket gremlins

Yeah, most people want the

Yeah, most people want the speed of the bomb back from what I've heard. I got the DLC after I heard about how good the bomb was, then they nerf it. IMO, they should have tested it more first so they don't give us a sort of "bait and switch." First, someone buys the DLC. Then, others see the bomb and buy the DLC for it. Then, OOO nerfs it. Seems kinda scammy to me.

I think its pretty worthless

I think its pretty worthless now. I tried it again post-nerf with a bomber loadout & ended up just using my stock Levi the whole time because it got the job done faster (this was T3 vs Shadow weak)..

bump in support

I agree. Reduce damage some? By all means. Reduce speed? That was a big mistake and needs to be reverted.

@Halandin Nerfing items days

@Halandin
Nerfing items days after release happens all the time in games like this. If you've ever played through an update in TF2, you know that sometimes even the most absurdly overpowered weapons can escape notice until tested large-scale by the public. The fact that this one happens to be a pay-for item is more than likely a coincidence.

The bomb is still amazing...

The bomb is still amazing... even with the nerf, especially considering that it should be bad compared to other bombs as it is an easy reward item type thing.

Idk. After using it in a 2

Idk. After using it in a 2 man Jelly King run it still seems pretty powerful. It did about 31 damage per hit to the jellies and 23 to the lumberers. I think the nerf was needed. I've heard of people solo'ing Jelly King in less then 20 seconds with that bomb.
Also, before the nerf, it did more damage then a silking healing a lumberer, at about the same speed.
The bomb was rediculesly overpowered. The nerf cut it down to about where it should be, maybe a *little* too far though

Jelly king is big, wich favours the bomb's nature. It will always look overpowered there, just like FoV charge.

I think the nerf was required

I think the nerf was required (it was way OP), but I think it went a bit too far. I never asked for the nerf, but I wasn't surprised it was coming. I still use the bomb, but mostly if I know I'm going to place it under a group of spawning monsters or in jelly/gremlin arenas last wave. It also still works pretty well for ninja gremlins.

Updated DR

Just a heads up, DR is now a pretty viable bomb for almost anything (they probably hotfixed the damage), and has more potential damage over any bomb but RSS(implying more than 4 hit). If I could edit the wiki I'd work on the damage tables but it was doing 100+ with DB max on each hit, which is still pretty good damage.

hmm bomb and hamer are fine

hmm bomb and hamer are fine the way they are now.

i never used bombs in my life (hell this was the first one and now finaly taking on vanaduke every day made me finish the shivermist) i still use it on RJ runs and i don't even have to whip out my gran faust against the desert gone mad, it just takes a bit longer then pre-nerf. and the hammer... it is now on par with the divine avenger. yes the damage is lower, but the hamer is faster then the DA (or any big sword) the dash can hit a few times and then there's the second swing.

TL;DR

pre-nerf they where noob weapons, now they are on the same level as the other weapons of their kind.
