Hello. It would be nice if Three Rings update the famous PVP game Lockdown. So, I just give this idea.

Candlestick Lockdown Stage has no grimalkins. But you still need to light up the candle because your Health will be drained by 1 bar in 2 second. The Recon cloak will not be break if getting drained.

This stage should have 5 capture points. "Point 1" and "Point 5" candle would be blue and the rest is not lighten up.

Hope this Help. Thank you.

Not sure about the health drain

Like the idea of a Candlestick LD stage (as much as I hate the stage in clockworks lol), but health drain would immediately put those without health trinkets at an even bigger disadvantage, and we'd be seeing a lot more one-hit-kills because of this. I say just keep the grimalkins, it would make people use there heads more... or be eaten.

Yay for csk stage. No for

Yay for csk stage.

No for health drain.

I think they should add grimalkins for this stage.

+1 to Grimalkins

Would definitely add to the challenge rating; it forces you to rethink a strategy, and it makes it impossible to use the same route over and over again to reach a certain control point, or to camp at one spot to wait for enemy players. I'm all for it; anything that makes LD less of a killfest and more of a tactical game is good.

-1 to the health drain. I'm with Trollingyou for this one; that and health already drops fast enough in LD; a health drain would force players to camp near their base to replenish health. Not very fun.

Hmm..

I'm seeing a problem with Grimalkins I think...

If recons could turn invisible so that Grimalkins couldn't attack them..

And Strikers could easily dash away...

Guardians only have a shield, which grimalkins bite through.

Kinda looks to me like Guardians would be the only ones who would actually get hit by them.

Not necessarily.

"If recons could turn invisible so that Grimalkins couldn't attack them.."
Simple, once the invisible recons are affected by other recons' death marks, they are already vulnerable to Grimalkins until the mark wears off.

"And Strikers could easily dash away..."
Exactly. It forces them to change strategies rather than blindly charging along their usual path to an enemy's point. That's why I suggested Grimalkins; it's not so much a method of reducing players' health so much as to force them to adopt a new approach in battle.

@Severage

Monsters don't differentiate between visible and invisible targets. Check Mecha Knights AI when encountering Ghostmane Stalkers.

@Hexzyle:

So, then..

You're basically saying that Striker would be the only class that wouldn't need to worry about Grimalkins, unless they literally rammed into them.

Sounds wonderful.

We would probably see

We would probably see catastrophic consequences of this implementation.
Reasons:
Candlesticks are already the most hated level in the clockworks, and would probably be in LD as well, just like Frostbite;
Lockdown is really rage inducing, especially because most players die too often (health draining would only worsen it);
Strikers would dominate in a candlestick map (like in every other map), since they'd be in the darkness for the least time (lose less health), unbalancing the game even more;
Grimalkins might add a twist to it, but I'm not convinced they'd make LD actually fun to play;
Lighting up a candle is boring, LD is frustrating, combine both and you get this.

I can't really know what this map would turn out like, but these are the most probable results. (imo)

little idea here: guardian

little idea here: guardian shield (aura) works like a candle. it may turn out kind of sluggish, but itll be quite interesting.

Penny for my thoughts?

Lockdown is really rage inducing, especially because most players die too often (health draining would only worsen it);
I'm against the health draining, and that is a very fair point.
As for dying too often - that can be resolved by better teamwork and less gung-ho players. Also some people to counter skolver-toothpicks.
However, there are other elements in-game to induce player deaths - such as shock traps or shadow fire.

Grimalkins might add a twist to it, but I'm not convinced they'd make LD actually fun to play;
It could work both ways, really.
On one hand, more rage over deaths - NO FAIR THAT BIG STUPID BLACK CAT JUMPED OUT IN FRONT OF ME.
On the other, it forces players to take a less offensive approach, to use a detour if a Grimalkin blocks an oft-used path, or to disincentivize camping at a location for long periods of time. I tend to look at it more as a way of rebalancing highly offensive games where gungho toothpickers dominate.

Lighting up a candle is boring, LD is frustrating, combine both and you get this.
Not any less tedious than Furnace and its water globs; so I don't see what's the problem with the candle.

little idea here: guardian shield (aura) works like a candle.
Interesting twist to the game to make the Guardian less useless, but if the Grimalkin was designed to counteract camping this would essentially just deny that application.
Alternatively it would make the Guardian a prime target - well, it already is, though.
