Now ive been farming FSC for a bit now, and throughout those days, ive mustered 148k in crowns. But whilst i was farming FSC, i was wondering what my first piece of 5* gear i should get.

Ive already gotten and learnt the Crest of Almire recipe, but i haven't gotten any other 5* recipes. For my set of armor im sort of leaning towards Shadowsun, bearing in mind its potential future buff.

Its been bothering me for a while now and i can't decide what the best choice would be, so ive decided to make a post and hear about your thoughts.

Heres basically the gear that i want to upgrade that actually matters.
Cold Iron Carver (Low undead )
Silversix (Low ASI)
Sunset Stetson
Sunset Duster
Blackened Crest

Id also like to hear if i should buy CE at the current rate that it is, or grab onto hope that it drops dramatically.

Personally, I'd upgrade the weaponry first. Then go for the Shadowsun, and after that the CoA. Extra damage is always useful.

The CE market has dropped a bit due to the Valkyrie wings promo... you might want to get it now, I don't think it'll drop dramatically any time soon.
(But I might be wrong.)

Go CoA first. Your shield right now is really bad with no fire resist, and it'll also be able to tank a vanaduke mace hit.
Then, I'd either go for Shadowsun, or AP (considering you use that more).
Also, get a elemental brandish or an Avenger to replace your CiC. You won't regret it.

Edit: I'd try to get CE now if I were you, the promo doesn't last forever.

Now ive seen some people reccomend getting a weapon first, shield second and armor last. Im thinking this is a farily good way to go, unless someone has something of great importance to add :D

Take note that a 4 to 5*

Take note that a 4 to 5* gunner armour upgrade, gives you either:

Different defence for your preferred farm
One more asi point
Damage vs all points for asi points

The main attraction for armour uprades before weapon upgrade is the weapon bonus. That extra point applies to all your guns. Whereas, for 800ce, you could gain some extra damage just on one gun.

Of course, some weapons gain more from the upgrade of 4 to 5, such as alchemer charges.

Weapon (other than CIV/Levi) -> Shield -> Armor

Just make sure your keep in mind the upcoming changes when deciding on your gunner armor path:

I personally would upgrade my Primary weapon(s) and shield then do the armor (especially since the armor is about to change).

One other note, I know I said weapon first but Levi is the exception. The difference between the Ascended Calibur and Levi is very minuscule and there is no reach advantage either (personally tested this). In-fact "upgrading" from an Ascended Calibur to a Leviathan will result in a Damage and CTR nerf until you get the thing heated back up. I know you have the divergent Calibur line (CIC->CIV), but I'm betting that it scales the same (check the damage tables on the wiki). I put off this upgrade for a long time because it is mostly cosmetic.
