A needed change for Revives / Actions

Here's the situation. Your buddy goes down. You go to revive him/her and Miss Click. What Happens? Your stuck in whatever weapon animation you have out leaving yourself open to get hit, usually causing both of you to die.

This has happened to me Alot playing blitz needle on vana runs. I'm sure other Blitz users know this pain. Even just waiting on a sword swing can get you hurt or killed let alone the 2 secs your stuck shooting that gun. I even had a miss click causing me to shoot a bomb box killin myself. Derp moment for sure.

Which brings me to my suggestion of Using Shield Click to Revive / Action.

Not only is it faster, but instead of missing and swinging your sword, shooting your gun, or bomb wobbling, you would have your shield up defending yourself.

I really think this would greatly impact people knowing they're not gonna die trying to save you.

This fix would also keep you from buying a door or robot when frantically fighting an enemy left clickin' like crazy <-- hasn't happen to me, but im sure someone has done it more than once.

Whattaya think?

2nd that

It is ridicules when you are in a swarm of enemies and you have to go and revive or be revived that you have to go in with an action button to hit, because most of the time then the auto aim kicks in and you end up hitting an enemy instead of reviving the person. If you go in there with your shield it makes way more sense you are protected and it goes faster too you know that your shield is us because it glows blue also. When you go to a person you think you hit them but most of them time you don't when you are in a hectic battle. Plus he is right about the people knowing they are not going to die trying to save you also. Especially in an arena because the last round is just chaos and the people end up going around a few time before they can revive a person so you are just laying there.

Idea: Instead of trying to

Idea: Instead of trying to revive someone in a swarm of mobs, kite them to an empty area, then run back to revive your downed team mate. The area will be clear.

I agree it would be nice to have a solution to this problem, but I don't think it's very high priority.

The issue is that the revive

The issue is that the revive icon only appears when you're very close to the player, so that when you right click to do an action near them, not only do you have to wait for your latency to catch up to you, if it you were even standing in the right place in the first place, but if you miss, you'll end up firing a shot or at least being stuck in the attack animation even if the revive was successful.

A solution would be to increase the range that you can revive someone from, and making it more latency friendly.

I have miss clicked so so so many times and it gets soo annoying. I see the icon and pretty much 70% of the time it's a miss and I get so frustrated. I definitely think that something should be changed about this because like hey, we're helping out our downed friend right?

Hello, my name is Lou-Cipher and i have died because of "x" (and my lack of skills, self control, and short attention span), please change "y" to make me not die anymore. KTHX.

Thats what Lou-Cipher said without this pathetic "its for greater good" cover. Another suggestion with a greed and selfishness at its base.

Solution? LEARN to play the game. Learn to aim. Ever heard of risk management? Decide if you want to rev someone NAONAO!!11oneone or wait a bit. Its all your fault.

Your trolling is getting worse. You're not even providing reasons anymore. We've already heard the "get better at the game" arguments. We already are good at the game. But when the game decides not to function correctly, as in a BUG. Are we expected to just overcome this? If there was a bug that multiplied every monster's health by 598 and there was threads asking it for it to be fixed, would you post your stupid little "get better at the game and beat them" argument there?

And you might say that this bug is not as bad as monsters who seem nigh invincible. Oh but it is. If you are an epic shielder and you can shield bump any monster away, and a bug causes your shield not to function, and you die because of this bug, regardless of how good you are, you cannot overcome a bug which causes your shield to malfunction directly before you are struck.

I imagine the best option

I imagine the best option would simply to provide an option to assign the "action" command independently from other controls like attack and shield but still let you assign it to the same key as attack or shield if the player wants to.

I've definitely seen moments where, say, a player tries to revive another and accidentally sword swings into an active fire grate because the game didn't think they were close enough. Or that annoying moment where I ended up chatting to the sprite in FSC instead of fighting off the hordes of zombies.

I don't think just moving the command to the shield key is an ideal solution. It still can result in opening chats with NPCs if you're trying to shield bump, for example, although it does help in not getting stuck in attack animations if you miss a revive.

Being able to assign a new

Being able to assign a new button or action to reviving would be handy, as well as increasing the radius to give health to revive. Not only would it make it easier to revive your buddies, but it could also stop any accidental revives from a mis-click (which has been quite annoying).
