While looking into the game files to see whats coming up is probably frowned on, I did notice some of the armor models seem to be dividing into parts - torso, pelvis, legs and arms seems to be common. Now someone had mentioned the idea of shoulder accessories recently, which lead me to suspect that the latest patch may have done just that.
As far as i can observe, armor accessories can be broken down into attachment area. Most armor front accessories would now be torso front, vitakits and wings are torso back, tails and side blades are pelvis back and parrying blades are either be pelvis front or leg (not sure what part of the skeleton they are attached to). Built in arm accessories for the Azure guardian, Snarbolax etc..
Personally I might have gone for a lovepup if it didn't mean destroying the parrying blade on my proto armor costume
I had a large comment to post but then I remember that these folders were there for as long as I've been gazing at the game files, I had just never bothered to touch them.
It would be a useless task to go to all the armours and split them up anyway, armour accessories are models attached to a 'bone' on the character models 'skeleton', accessory slots come in later.
Also, I wrote a/the shoulder accessory idea
