Making the Valiance Bayonet functional

So after creating a Valiance for my gunner set, I find it already awesome as a self defense utility. However, one thing sorta irks me.

It has an awesome looking bayonet on it that is nonfunctional.

Here is my suggestion for making it functional, but not entirely useful. When a user of the Valiance fires the gun (moves it from the side to in front), whatever's directly in front of the knight at a reasonable sword distance suffers a minor amount of damage (say 100) and is knocked back a slight degree. This only works when the Valiance moves from the side of the player (idle stance) to the front of the player (firing, charging stance). This is purely a novelty suggestion, and nothing else on the Valiance will be touched.

So

you're saying that when you fire the gun it should hurt people.
WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!!

I think it should deal a ton

I think it should deal a ton of knockback (several times more than BAB) and deal a good 400-500 damage in tier two.

It should also cause stun, fire, shock and curse.

Missing the point.

The bayonet damage will be counted separately from the projectile damage.

Clear enough?

I was saying that the bayonet should deal a ridiculous amount of damage, and should magically shoot enemies back with stun, fire, shock and curse.

IDEA: It should also bypass friendly fire whilst in the clockworks.

Change the knockback from half a space to a whole one.

Forget giving it a melee attack, it deserves to be a bomber sidearm worth using over Pulsar lines.

Supernova's already a great knockback spreader, though.

I'm primarily using the Valiance to give me breathing space when not force feeding slag walkers tasty, healthful needles or Storm Driver charges.
Bit extra knockback would be nice, but people have survived with the current amount.
