Sooo, after using my Quicksilver Set in T2 Lockdown, I've felt the need to get new 3* Armor.

Here were my Choices:
★☆☆☆☆
-Solid Cobalt Set- Nope. plain & Simple. it's basically Dusker without the Damage Bonus & Slightly Higher Defences, as well as no Status Resistances & Hammer Defence.

★☆☆☆☆
-Gunslinger Set-Going to say no on this, as well. I tried it, but as everyone had said in a Previous Thread of mine, Gunning in T2 LD is Hard. No Resistances & Hammer Protection.

★★☆☆☆
-Chroma Set-Again, no. Although it has Two Status Resistances, Drakes Scale Resists them Higher & the Jelly Damage Bonus ain't going to help. No Rocket Hammer Protection.

★★★☆☆
-Brute Jelly Set-Yet again, no. Although, very similar to my Quicksilver Set, it offers no Shock Resistance for Pulsars, replacing it with Sleep & Stun. No Hammer protection & Near-Useless Resistances.

★★★★☆
-Quicksilver Set-Second Choice for T2 LD & it's been that way ever since. Offers Decent Protection against Toothpicks, but not on Hammers. Has a slight chance of not getting Shocked by Pulsar Shots.

★★★☆☆
-Dusker Set-At last, I start with the Generic Clone Set. The Damage Bonus might be useful, seeing how my Hammer seems to take out Clones without Damage Bonuses anyway, with Decreased ASI, too, due to me being Recon most of the Time. Seeing how many people use this Set, I've taken this Set into Consideration, Testing to see if the Damage Bonuses are Noticeable with the Hammer.

★★★☆☆
-Drake Scale Set-I've spectated this Set might be the Best Defensive Set for T2 Lockdown, due to it Protecting against Pure Piercing(Flourishes/Snarble Barbs) & Elemental(Stable Rocket Hammers)Damage. Though, the Lack of Normal Defence will probably cause me to get KO'd by a Simple Calibur. But that's a risk I'm willing to take. Not to mention it Resists Fire & Poison bit better than the Chroma Set.

After rough thinking, I've decided to Craft both the Drake Scale & Dusker Sets. Drake Scale for it's Major Advantage of Defending against the most "Deadliest" Weapons of T2 Lockdown & Dusker for it's "Admired" Damage Bonus.

Here's my Loadout that I use in T2 Lockdown, using Recon as my Class:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Stable Rocket Hammer: Duskers, meet my Friend.

-Toxic Vaporizer MKll: Seeing my fellow Guardians needing Help with Strike Duskers, I plant this Bomb in their Shield to prevent them from taking too much Damage. Toothpick attacks that Normally deal 5 Bars of Damage only Deal a measly 2 Bars when Poisoned. Also great for Defending a Capture point.

-Antigua: Spamming your Gigawatt Pulsar, I see? No problem, I'll just Interrupt you with my Quick-firing Antigua & then Disappear, Close in, & Smack you around with my Hammer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Should I reconsider these Sets or Not? Discuss.

Drake scale sounds nice for

Drake scale sounds nice for T2 LD. Also I recommend getting a haze bomb mk II along with your other stuff. The stun completely ruins your opponents and is so much fun to use.

I've already got Haze Bomb MKll, so I'll try using that again.

There is so little to no protection against shock and freeze in T2 that Lightning Capacitor and Freezing Vaporizer MK II actually become very viable, even more so than Haze Bomb MK II at times. Any one of the 3 aforementioned will be a big boon, and if fully heated, apply max CTR on Recon. Might be even more viable than the toxic vapor you have going.

You could also consider sun shards for that burst of damage that people seem to have a hard time dodging.

Just my thoughts though, do as u wish.

I've been thinking of trying Sun Shards, as I heard(& seen) it Rip Enemies to Shreds if used right.

Drake Scale Yes

I was wondering how long it would take for Drake Scale to catch on.

Yep, Drake Scale

Personally, I use Brute Jelly Helm combined with Drake Scale Mail to give me a little protection to most weapons. The combination protects me against Hammers, toothpick, and any other normal weapons (Calibur line, Blaster line). Although, you don't get that Med Sword damage increase, but it's still usable.

I've actually been thinking

I've actually been thinking of getting quicksilver (sick of being a clone), but I'm not a fan of RT. however, when I do change over, i'll be shouting something like...this: http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/yy5/Ndog921/61e58b23.jpg

Mah Tier 2 LD Weapons!

I use striker(the booster, not the weapon), in combination with a 2* pulsar, and a Stable Rocket Hammer. The reason I don't use toothpick is simply because i'm not very good with it, (I should self-teach myself one day.) The pulsar helps me keep other strikers at a distance while I guard/cap the point.

As opposed to thinking about overall set bonuses

I believe that learning how to use them works well. For example, rather than thinking the gunslinger sash sucks, learn to gun. No resistances or hammer defence? Don't get hit, like a true gunner. I find the bonus against toothpicks much more helpful than against hammers, seeing the relative rarity of stable hammers in T2 LD, not to mention that hammer-ers NEVER hit me as a gunner. :3

Antigua with gunslinger set in T2 is godly for interrupting those stupid pulsar spammer, too. Hammer is unreliable against professional PvPer, but great for the noobs.

Mist bombs tend to work well no matter what, from what I've seen. It doesn't matter if you're on fire or frozen, it's bad.

Another notable weapon is Sun Shards. You try it out. ;)

Sharding Tips

A few tips if youre looking to be a shard bomber.

First. Death Markers are your friend, no more than that. They are your soul mate. You can actually kill someone with 2-3 shards in death marked, not including the new damage bonus.

Second. I see a lot of shard bombers afraid to get up close and personal. If you're going for damage the best thing to do is kinda move in and out between close and medium range switch direction of rotation as you do. This increases the chance of them getting hit and if youre lucky you can almost shard lock them where the stagger completely throws off their rhythm.

Third. When dealing with Guardians there are four general strategies I use.
- Plant shards medium distance away and hope they kite after you
- Shield-lock em with a haze (preferably static so you can hit them in between shock ticks)
- Bring a sword
- Don't even bother with them

These are just personal tips and aren't really meant to be a complete guide. I'm basicly jsut stating what I do so you might want to find your own, and perhaps more effective style.

Oh and this is all for T2. I have no idea what shard bombings like in T3
