First off, I will admit that this idea is taken from TCGs and Guild Wars. It works rather well in both, and I can see it doing well here if implemented correctly.
The premise is fairly simple. You click the Tier you want to join since which you end up in is not based on your gear or loadouts (neither are used) you spawn in basic Proto gear and you can look through your arsenal to see what you have to use.
Gear is random and level 10, no UVs, no Trinkets. All tiers also get a full set of level 10 Proto gear... if you decide you want to use it more (or less) power to you.
Tier 1 gets all 1* items. 7 weapons (2 guaranteed swords, 1 gun, 1 bomb), 2 helms and 2 armors.
Tier 2 gets all 3* items. 19 weapons (3 guaranteed sword, 3 gun, 3 bomb), 7 helms, 7 armors.
Tier 3 gets all 5* items plus RSS and Ionized Salt Bomb. 19 weapons (3 guaranteed sword, 3 gun, 3 bomb), 12 helms and 12 armors.
You get your gear at the start of the match and can equip what you like. ALL gear can show up so even if you don't have OCH you can still end up with the hammer or DR, same for Static Flash. (Note to OOO, good way to get people that don't have them to want to buy them). Gear can be swapped out in the locker room or while you are dead and waiting to respawn. Otherwise it is the exact same as LD.
I thought it would make an interesting change of pace, and as I said I've seen it implemented effectively before. It would also give all the people that want vanilla LD to show their skill (plus a little luck).
Oh, and just for reference the tiers have the following equips, all are 1*, 3*, or 5* with noted exceptions.
Tier 1 has: 9 swords, 4 guns, 3 bombs, 5 helms, 4 armor
Tier 2 has: 16 swords, 15 guns, 13 bombs, 16 helms, 15 armor
Tier 3 has: 19 swords, 17 guns, 12 bombs (plus RSS and Ionized Salt Bomb), 31 helms, 31 armor

Instead of the gear being random, why not have a random set of gear from which you can pick and choose your loadout.
