Preparing for FSC

Currently a 4* knight preparing to make the transition to 5* and unsure of the approach to take considering the Missions that follow lead up to FSC. I was wondering if the following setup for 5* gear would be sufficient to attempt FSC.

Perfect Mask of Seerus
Vog Cub Coat
Grey Owlite Shield
Warmaster Rocket Hammer
Blitz Needle

All of these items are fairly easily attainable for me from where I'm at now but before I proceed I would like to know if other players think this loadout would be effective.

Yes, that loadout should be good enough to complete FSC.

* Going with full fire resist is nice, without it takes you too much damage.
* Consider having a 3rd slot for an elemental gun like Argent or Storm Driver. You can complete FSC with 1 sword and blitz, but doesn't hurt having a support gun.
* The hammer is nice, but could take some time to dominate. Voltedge / Glacius or DA ar good alternatives if you're having troubles with the hammer.

What trinkets are you taking? CTR for the hammer is kinda silly, so I'd take gun or sword damage trinkets.

Yes, it is a perfectly valid loadout for FSC, it covers the basics : an elemental sword and a weapon useful against Vanaduke.

You may want to swap the hammer for another elemental sword though, as the dash is very dangerous down there, because there is fire everywhere. Some people can manage it, most prefer to take another weapon.

agree

I agree with Fradow; DA is easier than WRH, for example. But WRH is usable. I agree with Jaroche, except that there's not really a strong reason for an elemental gun. (I never use one, except when I'm soloing the Vanaduke fight itself.)

An elemental gun can be handy for beginning FSC-ers. Besides being able to fight from a distance, you can quickly switch to AP/Alchemer to interrupt breath attacks, or take down the rocket puppy in D25 if you don't have shock vials or can't dodge rockets. If you switch to a Brandish/DA, you'll find you eventually don't need it though.

And don't forget about Combuster. If you're going to be running in parties without Vortex( i.e. almost all pugs), it's a solid choice.

VPS, Crest, ( and eventually Swiftstrike) are all better shields for FSC. But Owlite works fine.
