Is Mercurial Set/Striker in LD a viable option?

Would the movement speed bonus on the merc. set stack with the Striker boost to make the Speedy Gonzales of Lockdown? Is it worth sacrificing sword bonuses on other armours to go across the map with incredible speed?
Would it even work?

Discuss.

Evidently, it would take some practice to avoid boosting into walls, but... That's not what the thread is about.

If it icnreases teh speed, it wont be by a big margin. It may work on big maps and small teams, to hold on points.
You still have to stop if you want to swing a sword, and in that case, the lack of 2 skolver pieces will matter a lot. Also, shivermist and your speed means nothing, forcing you to als seek UVs.

pierce def, shock resi and

pierce def, shock resi and faster run. i used mercurial for ld until i got skolver. it´s still worth it to fight bombers with VT

skolver>mercurial imo but merc is still a good option

oh and: yes, it stacks with striker boost but don´t expect a huge difference

edit:
asi vh FF/BTB
merc set
2 elite slash modules and
TONS of skill would be epic ;)

Mercurial is good for the shock resist, not MSI.

I've faced against a few dedicated LD players who start out in full Skolver, but after a fly through my VT, come back with Mercurial and pretty much kill me (Albeit then I take out my Stagger).

I've even seen a few wealthy LD players who just use a Mercurial Helm with Shock resist High/Max on a Skolver Coat, to gain part of the Skolver Damage bonus with the shock immunity of Mercurial. Works quite well too.

The MSI is only really good for Recons and maybe Guardians. Recons benefit from it because with MSI med, they move at walking speed while cloaked and charging bombs, instead of slightly slower.

A friend of mine keeps going

A friend of mine keeps going on about how great Mercurial is in LD, especially because of the shock and pierce resist. I think the MSI is really a minor perk compared to the rest. What you lose in sword bonus, you could make up a bit with trinkets.

Mercurial set is really good

Mercurial set is really good in LD as it makes you VT proof. It also has more piercing resist than Skolver set which means you can survive longer against toothpickers. The speed bonus is only really useful for recons as the other said (didn't see anyone who uses Mercurial when playing guardian though). If you are a striker, the reason why you want to get it is the shock resist and more piercing defense. Although I would definitely recommend getting it no matter which class you play.
