Better Idea For Fixing CE Price Inflation

Flat out, short and simple. I think the problem here is the ability to post an offer to buy. It's not a stock, it's a commodity, a good. The fact that there are offers posted to buy prevents the CE price from ever dropping back down. When CE is at a lack and not a lot of CE is on the market. The price will go up because the supply is down but the demand remains the same. However, when CE is back in full force (ie just after a promotion) the price remains the same because still prefer making offers to sell instead of accepting offers to buy. Because of this the CE price does not recede due to the fact that nobody is really in a hurry to sell the CE to make crowns if they can just wait a little while to get full market value. The solution I propose is to simply due away with the offers to buy. Instead put in it's place an automated service by the game. It would allow you to sell your CE instantly same as accepting the offer to buy except it would be at 10%-20% less then whatever the current average, lowest, or whatever statistic is most balanced for this purpose, offer to sell is. The CE would simply be removed from the game at that point. This way, players looking to sell CE would still be able to instantly sell CE to make any quick cash they may need, but at the same time encourage them to make offers to sell at prices that are competitive to others players. Any player wishing to buy CE but not pay the current offer price could still try haggle with people in front of the Auction House rather than posting an offer to buy which will most likely be ignored by sellers. The problem with the current system is offers to buy just get increasingly closer to offers to sell in desperate attempts to purchase CE under current market value which in turn just drives up the market value of CE. That's my take on things. Sorry if you don't agree.

It would do nothing but hinder the buyers, though it sounds good from the onset.

Players form price walls, and this would stop them. However, lets say that I wanted to purchase 11 million crowns worth of energy. I'd go on, and I'd sit there clicking "buy now" for quite a while. This would do the same thing as a price wall, but would hurt my hand from clicking to buy.

You could

Just not buy any and tell OOO to stuff it.

@ Fehzor - Menu navigation is messy in the game, if the interface of the Market was revamp, it could impliment what OP had mentioned, It could help.
