Hi All,
While skills are important in this game, others have pointed out the relevance of being able to look good while cutting down the retrodes, beasts, or the undead. Hence, the promotional items involving costume sets have been well-received (even though ppl whine that it is not a substitute for new game content, I do notice new costume sets being worn, the moment the items are released into the market).
Personally, when it comes to aesthetics, a colour-clash bothers me (eg vog-cub set with owlite shield or skolver set with barbarous thorn shield - BTS). Some of us may prefer a skolver set for damage bonus, & hence may also prefer a BTS. Hence, for the colour-clash conscious, they may wear a costume set over the skolver, so it does not colour-clash with the BTS.
My suggestion is to consider costume sets for shields, guns, swords and bombs. To add to the great many designs in clockworks, I would suggest a new design for these costume gears. Alternatively, previous designs can be used, but just to have it with different colours (eg the alchemer guns or the piercing swords, all have the same look, but with different colours). Hence, if one wanted to wear a skolver set - it is possible to have a “white” shield while using BTS underneath. If it is difficult to come up with new designs, one can also consider having different colour variations of existing designs (similar to the alchemer guns or piercing swords)
In the case of weapons, the swords, guns or bombs could take on the appearance of the costume weapon until the moment when the weapon is fired or a charge is used. Hence, assuming a knight is using a costume sword, gun or bomb, a fellow knight would not know what is the underlying sword, gun or bomb, until the point where a shot is fired or a charge is used. For example, a fellow knight would only know it is a divine avenger when the charge is used (if a knight is just hacking and slashing, then a fellow knight would only see the costume sword, and have no way of knowing what is the underlying sword, though the movement of the costume sword, whether a 2-hit, 3-hit or a 5-hit, would give some hints). Likewise, a fellow knight would only know a costume gun is a firotech when it sees the shot fired. Or the fellow knight would only know it is a DBB when the charge goes off.
The adding of costume shields and weapons would add a new dimension to the game – especially for knights concerned with appearances. In addition, it does add that bit of mystery to what your fellow knight is using (assuming the inspection tab is deactivated), until the point a shot or a charge is used.
Given the rising costs of CE, I am also wondering if the developers are open to the idea of giving a token reward (eg CE) to suggestions that are ultimately implemented. The developers are not obliged to respond to such emails - no trolling is acceptable. If a suggestion is accepted, the knight may find a nice surprise in his / her email, months after the suggestion is made, thanking the knight for a suggestion that has been implemented into the game.
Thank you for reading.
A DVS doing the DA.
Lol. No.
