Just suggesting that maybe the devs could add a universal server clock/time on our hud somewhere? (maybe under the map? or some place.) so we know when promotions or organised meetings take place without having to google it all the time?
What's the time Mr Wolf?
It server time is set to PST. 9 of 10 dentists agree that learning time zones is a useful skill to know.
"without having to google it all the time"
You only search it once and memorize the difference, then do the math. Anyone above 13 can do that.
I was about to start a new thread, but thought bringing this back would be more interesting.
Now with Ol' Faithful kicks-everyone-off-the-servers-for-ten-seconds Reboot mostly gone (is it gone?), it's a kind'f silly hassle to coordinate meetings and special runs and all that. I suppose you could check the arcade and calculate meeting-hours by the times that gates will shift, but that's like your friend telling you her birthday's in two and a half moons when she could simply tell you the date. Also, some of us refuse to reveal what time zone we're in because of reasons.
A universal Cradle Clock, Haven Time Zone, Haven Hour, something like that would be sweet. Itsa small thing to ask for. It could just be a small addition to slip into the UI somewhere, or a cool sword-sculpture clock rising out of the town square fountain, or snipes puttering around a sundial in the garrison. Something simple. (ha, why not drop some grandfather clock furniture in future promos- "USE: Telling time in Central Haven Time Zone")
I don't care that it's always been midday in Haven. It's always been nighttime in graveyards, but that doesn't stop the hours from ticking on the planet nor keep the gates from changing in a timely manner. Universal hours can be agreed upon for Cradle.
Who else is up for for this?
A buh-bump +1 in this direction?
Do I hear a "Yeah, sure! Why not? Why not slip this into the UI next update!"
That's some memorial post surely... a year and a two, risen up from the dead, yes.
However, the same person above me, that last year ago, he spoke his's, which is actually now that it still applies within me as well.
There is a clock when ye move to the Arcade and choose gates at the left sides where the gates are active. The Adventure Board shows the adventuring time. Ye may only use them for now for the time being.
The adventure time zone is based on GMT -7. The states that uses this time zone is mainly on Arizona, US, or around USA & Canada(subject to change on DST).
Aw, why leave it tucked away in the Arcade Cave? It's so out of the way, I didn't even know it existed before I found this thread.
Haven doesn't need to follow DST. Even though the devs use it for updating the game in their own time zone, Haven doesn't have to save on electrical bills (or whatever having DST is for).
To all people stating that one should just "learn how to convert time zones", please remember that this is a social game, and it is not up to the user to learn every single one of their friends and guildmate's time zones in order to convey meeting and activity times. Operating around a centralized time zone such as the servers also requires each participating member to learn the difference in time zone, which, although apparently simple on a small scale such as one or two people, becomes considerably hampering to large scale community involvement. Having an easily accessible server clock would likely take little time to implement, and would save so much time for all players.
Ye know.. there is actually a clock in the Arcade when ye choose gates, if I remember.. or pull out yer mission interface and go to Arcade and see, otherwise go to the Arcade map and look for it.
I don't know if that is universal clock or maybe, but that's a adventure clock.
