Depends. Brandish = elemental

Depends. Brandish = elemental or shadow damage, so you should carry a sword of a different damage type.

Calibur: normal damage, so you won't do as well in FSC but will not need to make another sword.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Brandish and Calibur evolve into totally different swords.
I would personally go with the Brandish, since all its lines deal specialised damage. If you get two Brandishes and upgrade to Acheron and Combuster/Glacius/Voltedge, then you can get a damage effectivity bonus against 4 out of 6 families, and do normal damage against the other two. With a Calibur, on the other hand, the best you can do is to get a damage bonus versus one family if you go for Cold Iron Vanquisher. Leviathan will do marginally higher damage, at the loss of the specialisation. In addition, the Calibur line charge will cause an awful lot of rage amongst teammates if you spam it, since it has a tendency to fling enemies all over the place.

In general, the Brandish lines are the better choice, damage-wise, and I would pick them if you plan on primarily using swords. However, the Calibur may be a better option for a bomber or gunner who wants a sword as a sidearm, and doesn't want to spend lots of money on a sword for each damage type. It also does well against certain enemies, such as Vanaduke's mask (which is resistant to all other damage types), stationary turrets or cornered enemies with nowhere to go, upon which its charge can hit 3 times.

Calibur if you're a cheapskate and won't get bored.

There's no doubt that--as Bopp and others consistently point out--you're always better off having one weapon of each type (three swords, or two and one gun). But as Aureate suggests, there is also something to be said for the cost savings and simplicity of just having one sword that you use for everything. So the question is: would you rather have to spend more, heat more, and be more effective, or spend less, heat less and be somewhat less effective? (Oh, and also be tied down to one style of sword. That could get boring.)

There's one more consideration that might just eclipse all others: you're 2* and probably looking to farm T2 for cr intensively to prepare for the next leap. Well, what are you going to do, IMF (a less common choice) or RJP? You should pick one of the two and make the appropriate Brandish: Nightblade if you want to farm RJP, an elemental Brandish if you want to farm IMF.

Brandish is the better choice because you want specialized damage over normal damage. It's better to excel in most situations than be average in all situations.

Thank you guys but.....

Thank you everyone for telling me what you think about the Brandish or Calilbur, but what do you mean by "Well, what are you going to do, IMF (a less common choice) or RJP? You should pick one of the two and make the appropriate Brandish: Nightblade if you want to farm RJP, an elemental Brandish if you want to farm IMF."- Derpules . I am not trying to sound like a total moron but what does that mean? IMF,RJP?

explanations

IMF = Ironclaw Munitions Factory and RJP = Royal Jelly Palace. You can discover such things by looking for the articles "IMF" and "RJP" on the wiki.
