Ce cost way to much. It's almost becoming impossible for players who don't buy ce to be good at the game.
We need to fix this. Start selling ce for less crowns (hopefully around 5000). Then people buy for less crowns. Even 10 people can make a difference. Lets do this!
Ce crisis
Oh look, it's this thread again.
Energy costs will only drop when one of three things occur:
1. Sudden flood of crystal energy into the market (purpose of the promos)
2. Sudden flood of crowns out of the market (purpose of UV tickets, featured auctions, etc)
3. OOO decides to go back on their word and man-handle the energy market themselves.
Every third thread is about the fact that CE costs too much. How am I able to get myself CE and you can't? Of course, there's the excuse that you might be quite new to the game(and you probably are, given the fact that you dared to make this kind of thread despite the fact that anyone who ever makes such a thread gets eaten alive). It's a known fact that it's very hard for Tier 1/early Tier 2 to get started. The CE price isn't broken. It never is broken, it's set by the community. It's just a bit hard for beginner's to get started. If anything, that needs to be fixed: Make the early game more accessible so that new people don't flee/complain because of the energy system.
Well, anyway, one thing after another. And even though I know there will be another of these threads about a few hours later, I will be willing to tell you what's wrong about your statement.
"It's almost becoming impossible for players who don't buy CE to be good at the game."
Alright, two things to begin with.
"Advancing" and "being good" are two very different pairs of shoes. You get experience by playing the game, thus you get better at the game. That's being good. Now, if you pay CE for it, you take a shortcut. You could use that CE to make clockwork runs to multiply your energy, but given the fact that you can't even achieve that with your mist, that's no option. So you take the ultimate shortcut and use your new energy to purchase neat advanced gear. That's "advancing". Why am I telling you this? While you advance by getting better at the game, it doesn't mean that you get better at the game when you advance. Indeed, taking the shortcut leaves you completely unskilled, and if you are (un)lucky, you can use that energy to get l33t Tier 3 equipment without any combat experience whatsoever. In other words, you are armed to the teeth but you don't even know how to kill a scuttlebot with it(these frog-like robots that are about as dangerous as angry dog whelps).
So the actual opposite is true. Buying yourself too much through the game makes you bad at the game or rather, you never get good at it.
Alright, next point: You say it's almost becoming impossible for players to get CE through normal crown trade? Then I and, dunno, like nearly all players over tier 1 seem to be very special individuals being able to achieve the impossible like once per day. I achieve the impossible once a day. Wow, i should feel proud! That argument is just as pathetic as the complaint in itself.
"We need to fix this."
Nothing needs to be fixed, as nothing is broken. You just assume that the game is all about you and that it should suit itself to you. This game is hard, and people like it like this. Part of the challenge is getting the CE together for new gear. If you can't handle the challenge, then this game isn't for you.
"Start selling ce for less crowns (hopefully around 5000)."
"Hey you. Give me your money because I said so.", that's what you sound like. You want people to sell their valueable energy for less than they could actually get. So that you can get energy yourself. Besides the fact that this is incredibly selfish as, as I said, nearly everyone can afford energy and thus this price decrease is completely unnecessary, you have to think of the fact that people are either buying the energy with large sums of crowns or with real money. Real money. It's understandable that they want to get the best price out of their real money. Those who pay it with large sums of crowns... well they also worked for their energy, kind of. It#s just selfish in my eyes, nothing more.
"Even 10 people can make a difference."
These will also be the only amount of people you get around for doing this... if you're lucky.
"Lets do this!"
Again, 'cause you said so? Well, i think I'll go with... "No".
I always accepted the energy system as a game mechanic that required patience, market knowledge and overall good use with your money, not as some kind of limitation. You should do the same. If you like the game, swallow your low-progress-frustration and continue with it. I know it could be demotivating at times, but just bite yourself through it. Once you passed the money barrier(the point where you get more money with your mist than you need to pay for crystal energy), you will be able to fund your runs after the mist one and thus you effectively received the ability to play on forever.
If you don't think the game isn't worth trying to keep going, then... this game isn't for you.
Hey, I have a better suggestion than this: Every time a forum user posts a thread that involves a change in the energy price every user in haven gets a nerf bat with the notice to pummel this user to death for the next 20 minutes the next time he goes online after he posted a thread like this. I think it would add a fun new feature to the game, something that noob-despising forum members and plain sadists will love and finally something that discourages users to post these threads.
The bat would be called "CE price reduction", and every time the user dies by one, a pop-up appears with the text "There you got your crystal energy price reduction!"
I know, it sounds very silly, but in my opinion a feature like this has a very high priority and should be implented ASAP.
what about u sell to me for 5k first, then let me resell at 8k.
You do this!
I have given reasonable and polite arguments as to why this idea is not going to work.
I have now given up on being reasonable and polite. I am going on a derailing spree.
This thread is now officially about evil mass murdering doctor partridges with cleavers.
...if SK allowed personalised avatars, I would so have him.
10 people can't make a difference. Top 10 richest might. For a month. And then they aren't the richest anymore.
