So for all ya warmaster hammer hommies out there I wanted to know, if you can control where the hammer charge's second swing will be released would that be effective or even more over powering then what it originally is? If you cheer post a support comment if you jeer then post a comment and get OCH.

You can already...

Do you mean which direction the dash/second attack of the hammer's combo goes? You can already control which direction it goes.

Unless you mean being able to turn mid-dash, in which case no, you can't do that. I don't think one should be able to, if that's what you're suggesting. For one, the dash only lasts like a second so it would be hard to control. For two, if you did mange to get perfect control of exact turns during the dash, that could get a little overpowered.

Reason being, that's the hammer's biggest weakness. The inability to divert your movement means that carelessly spammed charge attacks are more likely to get you killed, and even a competently released one could be countered.

With this, aside from the lack of speed, the use of the hammer as a heavy weapon would have almost no drawbacks.

@Firock: He's talking about the charge attack, not the standard attack-swings.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

As it is, the standard attack is pretty OP given the number of hits it's possible to get on an enemy in the right circumstances.
The charge is meant to balance it out; high damage at great risk. Being able to alter direction would take out quite a bit of the risk.
So basically... no. - 1

If you want a controlled smash charge, use Sudaruska or Triglav instead.
The WMRH is more risk, more damage than a regular heavy sword.
