Whenever someone leaves the team in LD, everyone gets bonuses. What do you think?

3 people left in a 4v4 match. For no reason. Desperate, I killed all of the team... But they kept coming O_O. And even though I nearly won, and I got 19k dmg as a recon, I thought about how unfair it is when someone leaves. If everyone got bonuses to make it (slightly) fair, it would be nice. Likek 4 added health bars, that sorta thing :)

No.

If it's a 4v4 match, and you are the only one, then you get extra crowns. It's fair. ONLY if you win

I don't think it's fair if

I don't think it's fair if you are definitely losing because after all the leavers you get this crazy 1v6 game etc. There COULD be some handicap or something...

I know it's possible to win if you have a leaver. But... Venomousbiohazard has a point you know :\

First off, it is fair because everyone else has to deal with this. Honestly, I don't have much of a problem with this kind of stuff. Just. Have. Fun. It's worse to be on the winning team in these situations than the losing one. I'd rather not see damage/speed/whatever buffs, though an increased cap rate proportionate to the amount of leavers would be fine.

Agreed.

An easier advantage to not make it so slow. So a 1v6 match, when you capture a base, you can have a super fast time. So instead of taking 10 - 20 seconds just to cap a base, it should become fast as people leave on your team.

I've seen many matches

I've seen many matches decided before they begun by 1-2 players ditching in the waiting area. Frankly, it's absurd that a game can start if or when the number of players is known in advance to be imbalanced.

That said: the fact that everyone has to deal with it does not make games more fair. Rather, it means that unfairness is widespread: if your losses and wins due to leavers balance out, then congratulationson having two uncompetitive matches in a row. Whoohoo.

Forcing matches to have the same number of players at the start would help. Also, in another thread it was proposed that people who idle or rage quit halfway through (thus making a comeback impossible) should not be allowed to join a new match for 15 minutes afterwards.

I'm not sure if that would resolve the entire problem, but other solutions would be exploitable. I could imagine a scenario where a well-equipped player bullied a rookie teammate into quitting the match in order trigger the power boost. Creating a scenario where the team was *literally* better off without someone kind of undermines the spirit of teamwork.

Maybe...

When someone leaves, NO MATTER WHAT the leaver distributes his 200 crowns to the team. But the amount of leavers sucks. They see ONE player (Like Blueflood, Manhoe, etc.. And leave. Always. Those idiots. And the problem of those leavers is starting to become very, very annoying. Pauling, you have a point. But I do not know any other way to make it more fair.

^Yeah, hit them in the wallet.

But 200 cr is nothing. I would suggest upping the entry fee for T3 to 800 cr, but bump the payout up by 600 cr (for both the winners and losers). This way, the fee per match remains the same as now if you stick it out, but the disincentive for quitting increases.

Also like Pauling's suggestions.

The idea is really quite

The idea is really quite simple and it's been suggested before.

Scale capture times and respawn timers based on number of players on the team.

Some other ideas are:
a) Implement a 2-strikes flag system where the first idle/quit flags your account/computer for 20 min (roughly 3 matches); a second idle/quit bans you from re-entering for 20 min. Disconnects do not trigger the strikes (unless the user manages to perform a clean exit while disconnected)- this is because it takes ~15min to do a clean exit through disconnect, and logging back in while disconnected will drop you back into the match anyway. This avoids penalizing people who lag out or experience genuine computer issues. For scaling purposes, disconnected players obviously do not count.
b) When the lobby timer reaches zero, if there are any leavers, idlers or disconnected players, the match is canceled and players are returned to the front of the queue. Leavers and idlers are still penalized as normal

Maybe...

But I was playing LD earlier and my team was full Dusker. One person on my team left but we still dominated the game.... The point is that if the team who had a leaver was OP we wouldnt need buffs and the game would get even more unfair I'm no pro but still.

i also agree

i agree to increase the cap rate for the amount of players leave, that would at least balance the scale a little.

.....

It depends maybe there should be an option the team votes for if the cap rate goes up or not... (If the team was OP and the players were at all decent they should decline)

um

i only go pvp for the token, not for an equal battle. i think most players follow my example, so if it were a vote to not get a cap increase, i think most will say yes because their aim is the tokens and not the fair battle.

If their aim is tokens

then what's the difference? They'll get their tokens either way. (Sure, with the change, sometimes they'll lose when otherwise they'd have won--but other times, they'll win when they otherwise would have lost.)
