Ive been building up some cr for a new weapon but the only thing i dont know is what recipe to get. What i originally planned was to get the
fireburst brandish because i crafted a brandish with a UV.But then i considered that if i do a couple more jelly runs, i can get a sealed sword. But then, i sorta... thought about it more and the different variants of swords and...Im stuck. I want a decent 3* sword. I already have a swift flourish so thats out of the question. I need an oppinion on what 3* sword i should go for. Also, im not looking for a snarble barb line since im too lazy to repeat snarby.

Thanks!

Well....

Sealed Sword can be crafted into either Divine Avenger or Gran Faust.
Brandish can be crafted into Glacius, Combuster, Voltedge, and Acheron. The first 3 are all elemental swords, with different status effect on their charge attack. The last one, Acheron, is a shadow sword without any status effect.

Go on the wiki to read more about them.

Since you already have a swift flourish (piercing weapon), you can get a elemental or a shadow weapon. It doesnt really matter.

The Sealed Sword and Brandish are both very good weapons, although if you plan on farming FSC (vanaduke) later, you might want to get a elemental sword.

One thing to note is that the Sealed Sword series, and all other 2 swing, "heavy" swords, require a moderate amount of ASI (attack speed increase) bonus to use safely. You can obtain ASI on Vog Cub armor, Swiftstrike Buckler, ELite Quick Strike Module, or in the form of a Unique Varient (if you can get on by yourself when you upgrade it, awesome. Otherwise, they cost A LOT of money).

Ultimately, its personal preference. There is no bad choice here.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Depends what UV is on the Brandish.
If it's ASI or CTR, go for whichever you want (apart from Cautery).
If it's a damage family bonus, pick a weapon that either does neutral or effective damage to that family.
(I rolled a dual CTR/Beast Low, so I went for an Acheron since that way the damage bonus is actually useful.)

I would not pick a Gran Faust as my first choice of weapon, unless you plan to do an awful lot of RJP runs in future.
Going for a Fireburst Brandish is probably the best option here; well-rounded weapon, does excellent damage and won't freeze enemies right in your face (which may be hazardous to your health at times).

Combuster; fast speed, crazy damage output, perfect charge attack, good effect, all purpose.

not quite all-purpose

I love Combuster, but it's not exactly all-purpose, because it's bad against beasts and gremlins. Of course, if one has another weapon for dealing with those monsters, such as a piercing sword, than that's no problem. But the original poster has not told us how many weapon slots he uses, and what kinds of weapons he puts in them, so we can't really optimize his loadout.

Information delication?

From what im seeing and know, i'm a f2p player, I only have two weapon slots. I just use a tempered calibur for the most part. I wear dusker armor so im a swordsman. my secondary weapon is an antigua. Most of my gear is level 10. Hope the questions ye be answered, Bopp.

By the way, im talking about 3* star weapons here. Not some ol' fancy overpowered combuster thingymahjig.

four options

Masterthewook, even though you are currently at 3-star, you should always be thinking in terms of 5-star items, because that's where everything ends up (unless you're focused on Tier 2 Lockdown or something). I mean, you don't want to choose a nice 3-star sword (e.g. Arc Razor) only to find that it doesn't end up where you want. This is even more true for F2P than it is for P2P; fewer resources mean less room for error. Here are some options.

Option A: Combuster (elemental) and Argent Peacemaker (elem). This is okay (edit: in fact, very good) in Firestorm Citadel, but bad in most of the Clockworks. Don't do it.

Option B: Combuster (elem) and Sentenza (shadow). This works, but it's not awesome against fiends, who are arguably the hardest monster family.

Option C: Final Flourish (piercing) and Argent (elem). This is pretty powerful, for reasons explained in the "Mixing Weapon Types" section of my sword guide.

Option D: Final Flourish (pier) and Sentenza (shad). This works quite well, but it's not quite as strong as Option C, because it's less good against turrets, as I explain in the "Mixing Weapon Types" section.

I vote for Option C. When you get a third weapon slot, you can put Combuster or maybe Acheron/Gran Faust in there, and have a very nice setup. Yes, a third weapon slot is maintainable for F2P players who play regularly. In fact, once you get deeper into the missions/Clockworks, your cash flow is easily adequate to maintain a third slot. So keep it in mind for the (near) future.

Hmm

I think you should consider the shockburst brandish. What variant do you have? Shockburst and eventually Voltedge I think would perform well paired with a Callahan or like a FF.
