If you go to the hall of Heros and talk to 'Archilus' (magic guy) he will talk about the extinct Owlites, perhaps this is not 'strictly' true, they can be very simular to the 'Love puppy' and that speical 'mew cat'. So it wont attack you, though because they are VERY RARE, perhaps it just flys of and you get to admire its beauty :). Or kill it and get some nice loot... :(

sorry if names are wrong :P

Kats ate them out of existence.

Cut some open and dig them out.

undiscorved owlite nest deep within cradle?

Now that could be an awsome danger mision or boss thing.

Sorr to do that to topic but if there's like nests or something and an ominous owlite figure flying in the distance that be awsome.

Hmm.

Perhaps there could be a boss that's the ghost of a renegade Owlite wizard who dabbled in forbidden magics...

I thought

The Owlites were an intelligent species who somehow disappeared, why would they be monsters?

Owlites didnt dissapear

in the earlier yrs of SK, many knights were poachers. they killed/stole Owlites and banged them up into shields with hammers. :)

p.s. they could be a rare/endangered species. we are always finding fresh Owlite Feathers

Some tweaks

@Doctorspacebar It has been revealed that there is no such thing as magic in the world of SK, only concentrated manipulations of energy. But even energy, which has done some extremely amazing things, could not resurrect the dead in an exact likeness of it's life.

@Canine True we are always finding pelota feathers, but are they genuine? They could be feathers of a species that descended from the owlites, impure. Or maybe this material was so named because they may bear semblance to what we think they may have looked like. Only in similarity, like koala bears aren't real bears.

@Spacmanz You do realize that the scripts in the game would then have to change to "an endangered species" instead of " extinct species? It just wouldn't be right. Besides, extinct species are much more epic than endangered.

I do believe the owlites are extinct, or at the very least, hiding away on a secret base on the moon of a planet orbiting a giant star made of invisible socks that shroud the moon base in invisibility and if you touch those socks then you will implode due to the sheer force of sock.

Also, if owlites were not extinct then I believe they would be friendly. And they would love us and be bestestestestestestest friends with us and we could bake cakes and share our secrets and slaughter them in lockdown and we would all be happy friends.

Rather than as another rare monster

...finding and rescuing Owlites in the Clockworks as a mission to unlock features at Haven (run by said Owlites) would be neat. Maybe they would be "corrupt" and you have to defeat them which reverts them to their original form rather than kill them, then after brief dialogue they follow you to the lift and act as a follower throughout the level.

Back at Haven, could even ask them about the history of Owlite shields and what happened to Candlestick Keep levels (which used to be the Owlite Academy). Y'know, more backstory.

true

it would be reaally nice to see a level about an owlite school that is now run down by time. i would probably be filled with shadow monsters, but we could include some archives about the owlite history like there is in the danger mission about almarian. it would be nice.

Last owlite

Owlites are not extinct, they are only stated to be "supposedly extinct" which means we might see owlites in the future.
I think it would be great idea to make Danger Mission, or other Special Mission, that has owlites. For example: First there would be Candlestick Keep themed levels, and at last room, there would be a owlite, that sees you as an intruder, and protects itself by attacking you. Battle would something like owlite standing in the back of the room, using some sort of shield magic, which you would have to break before you attack owlite. It would summon floating Grey Owlite Shield (which would act similiar to Lord Vanadukes mask), and...I dont know, maybe some kats would spawn there too. After you break the shield and defeat owlite, you wouldnt kill it, but speak to it. It would tell you some backstory about owlites and their disappearance.

If you want to go that way....Kats are weak to elemental. Kats could aid it in fear of making it angry.

Or the owlite could actually be a prisoner being used to revert Kats un-death, so they defend it.

Who wants to have to kill an

Who wants to have to kill an owlite? We all love them and use them as an emblem on one of the most popular shields; no one wants to go and kill them. That's like saying to make a DM of mewkats. No one'd want to do it.

I'm with Yttriu; extinct sounds cooler and more shiny than endagered. As soon as some pop up, the mystery thins itself. The only acceptable comprimise would be something along the lines of a "last survivor" meditating somewhere in solitude.

noo

we kill knights like Arkus, so why not kill owlites? even if we use their tech, whyy not? we kill snarbolax, but we still use his skin as armor and his fangs as weapons, so why not kill owlites. even of they use good magic, there must have been some deviants in part of their race.

Well..

All I know is...extinct or not...they sure have a lot of feathers lying around.

I guess they flew the coop.

Arkus went evil and was insane.

And suffering from PTSD.

And was turning into a trojan.

And was corrupted.

He wanted to die.
