and are perfectly fine with using WRH?
How come people complained about spur sending you forward
It's because the Spur line used to send you forward on the first swing. So while the Rocket Hammer throws you quite a distance, it only does that on the second swing just like every other sword in the game. That's why some people had a problem with Spur but are fine with WRH.
I've never used Winmillion, so this is just conjecture, but:
WRH can, in some circumstances, deliver very high DPS. People are willing to put up with some funky mechanics, to get that kind of damage. Winmillion does not deliver high DPS, compared to 5-star swords. So why put up with it?
First of all, "how come" should be "why do" it is a pet peeve of mine.
Second, most people avoid the dash on WRH though the dash can hit up to three times for about 3/4ths to 5/6th (estimating) the amount of damage as the first swing. With Auto target off you find you slip past targets using it making it both useful and dangerous. Winimillion line has no option not to go forward.
Third, this is a 5* elemental weapon that deals more damage/sec than the DA! Spur is normal damage, meaning it's line would only out class the WRH in damage v beasts or gremlins, but most people have a FF or BTB for the beasts and Archeon/GF for gremlins.
Also, Winimillion has no 5* weapon meaning it loses out on functionality and damage. No 5* means no use to most players. (After shard update this is true-ish)
Lastly, Winimillion is buggy from what I have heard.
... Now I need a Winimillion because I collect useless gear!
Why remove the dash?
Because people get spur without being fully informed and complain of it's badness?
TBH I only see one way to save the spur line. Add a 5* version that deals shadow damage and deals more damage than archeon. Then it will be like WRH v DA, more damage and funky mechanic vs less damage and easier use.
The spur propelled you into crowds, making it's projectile worthless and dangerous. The current spur lets you attack+shield cancel to throw projectiles like a crappy gun... of course, it falls on its face due to its huge lack of damage now anyway. Removing spur's dash on the first hits made it safer to use, but further lessened it's damage. Whereas before the strategy was to close over distances and corner enemies, now the strategy is to use it as a gun first, then step into them to knock them back, then attack a third enemy. This is dangerous, but almost effective.
The WRH's dash is different though, as it is an attack that deals massive damage. One does not use WRH for its first swing, third swing or charge attack. One uses it so that they can deal several thousand damage in seconds flat.
...it's because the lunge isn't as strong on the Wild Hunting Blade.
