this is my first time using this forums but i needed some help..

this is for fighting the t3 boss vanaduke..i have shivermist bomb which i think hits him by like 1 and half squares (i think)
but im getting bord of the same old same old and i was going to make the splinter bomb into the scintillating sun shard bomb but i wanted to know if it would even effect vana before i put in all that money on making it a 5* bomb..it has a blast radius of 7 while shivermist has 9...but the splinter bomb blows up...

any help with my problem?

You'll have to use the water to get close to him. Possible but slow and hard.

The best non-mist bomb to kill vanaduke is DBB.
Hell, I'd make Voltaic tempest rather than any shard.

Shard bombs are disappointing duds when it comes to damage. DBB will get the job done, as will Nitronome. Their blast radius is wide enough to reach Vanaduke through both layers of fire(although a little risky) and keep some constant DPS. Although, does the duke resist shadow damage? I was wondering if he does or does not, I am a little curious as to what a DR can do to him if he's not resistant.

Shard bombs don't work well

Shard bombs don't work well in teh best of circumstances; Vana makes it even harder. You'd have to lure him onto them and even then the damage will be underwhelming. The old RSS was harder to use but worked a lot, lot more. Bombs really just aren't a dps solution for vana tbh, especially for when the Slags come in. It's really best to leave bombing to support for him and let the gunners do the dps. If you're bored shivvering though, you can always try gunning!

darkbrady i do both ^^ just depends what my team needs, a shiver or blitz...i think i am going to make a shock bomb like juances mentioned and make a bomb outfit...or im going to continue spaming auto guns until i get a good uv vs fiends on it, thank you for everyone's advise so i didn't waste my time making this bomb all the way...

reason i might make the shock bomb, i bought the 4* for my friend and foudn out you cant trade it lol..so i already have the 4* recipe for free

I, too, have wondered if Vanaduke resists shadow damage, and one day, when I was heating my biohazard in FSC, I took it to the boss fight. In phases 1 and 3, he has no resistance to shadow damage, and in phase 5, he becomes completely immune to it. Of course, the mask also resists it as it resists everything but normal damage. I can't remember if the shots still broke the ice though on phase 5...so that will remain a mystery
