So we can admire our gear at more angles :-) also might give the game a bit more of a dynamic 3d feel, specially round the welcome part of haven.

"So we can admire our gear at more angles" Ummm... you can rotate yourself or open inspect window.

I probably didn't explain it

I probably didn't explain it properly, like at the beginning of vana, to the extreme of the overlook section of the core. (that is probably not much better, but maybe you get me now?)

OFC I know you can turn your knight etc... :-D

Even with the very simple

Even with the very simple location based camera angle shifts which happen to also always be the same exact set of angles, the game's chat bubbles glitch out and don't appear.

It's entirely possible that there are even more issues with any camera angle aside from the default, which would just be made worse by a player-controlled camera.

I never noticed that at Vana

I never noticed that at Vana Chaos, will check it out - altho I am sure they would be solve-able, at the moment the bubbles stack based on the position of the knight and I am sure it would work the same at alternate angles.

Was just a suggestion, anyone else like the idea? Personally I love it when the angle changes (OCH & Vana in particular).

Another problem

If you turn the camera fair enough, you're going to start noticing some blank areas. This is due to the assets of the game being engineered, at least initially, to be seen only from one angle, and therefore any part of the asset which was not expected to be seen doesn't actually exist.

I suppose this could be remedied by checking which angles will show the invisible sides and then locking them so no-one can see them from that angle.
But that sounds like a lot of work, - not really, just for something most people aren't even going to use, much.

...

As Ghret said, the map is not totally 3D. It's mostly 2D, I think after you break the 180 barrier the map disappears.

So a "more dynamic 3D feel" is kind of impossible when the map isn't even 3D.

Inpection

In FSC, camera position changes at different moments. Also, we have the inspect your knight button. Turn your knight and you are done

Hmm I am not sure you guys

Hmm I am not sure you guys are right about this, I have played around in spiral spy quite a bit and the assets are fine.

To be honest, I was hoping for more feedback about whether players liked the idea or not, I am the sure the devs can comment on its execution and whether it is possible or not... of course you guys all might be right, but in the experience I have had it would be completely do-able, and already is done in game, at places like the start of Vana.

@Benightz: It is not so much admiring my own knight, but everyones creations at a more personable level. I know about the inspect your knight button (srsly), and it is not about the rotation factor, it is about the camera's "y axis"

Anyway.... glad I came up with a suggestion that people discussed!
