I just noticed that the wheels in FSC telegraph a "white" damage type and, call me stupid but, I've no idea what that is.

I expected them to be normal type (and that's usually associated with white in games, so I never questioned it) until I realised that normal should make it red. Anyone know? Am I missing something completely stupid and simple?

I always thought they were piercing. My Ironmight agrees.

I always found Volcanic Plate

I always found Volcanic Plate more effective against them than other shields and consequently presumed normal, but who knows. The wheel launchers have resistances and weaknesses in line with constructs, so go figure.

Normal. I usually go fsc with

Normal.

I usually go fsc with BTS/CoA or swift strike, and as the shield defends the wheels, the shield turns to green(swiftstrike turns into red). when i was heating ancient plate shield and went to fsc then defended wheel attack with ancient plate shield, the shield colour didn't change at all(stayed blue).
Also when i get hit from the wheels, my knight drops red rectangular things, like when i get hit from swarm turrets in unknown passage. The wiki page of swarm turret says that they deal normal damage. So, yeah, wheels deal normal damage, i reckon. Although they act like constructs, as their weakness is elemental and resist to piercing damage.
But who cares, even a swiftstrike buckler withstand their attack for once, no need to know which damage type they deal :3

Too many stupid people

Too many stupid people destroy the wheels too soon (or block them stupidly) so I guess I never noticed, I always assumed that they were Normal (like the floor spikes, contrary to popular belief)

White and some red telegraphs

White and some red telegraphs usually indicate the 'Neutral' damage type; training bots deal this.

Uh. I'm pretty sure they were red and white last I checked, which means normal. In addition, my Swiftstrike stands up pretty well against them, which would support this, since piercing should cut through a pure-normal t2 shield like butter.

hehe, wanna go wheel surfin?

If you're looking to play "wheel surfer" get an omega shield. I've had a friend "ride" a wave of wheels sent on blackstone bridge by putting up his omega shield, he was the person who was supposed to kill the launchers, troll and skill factor was proven rather readily by him "surfing" the wheels all the way back to the party pad and again all the way to the steps.

So wheels do normal, and I've had a few abuses for them myself.

@Skold: ...wouldn't the shadowfire end up pulverising your shield to bits? I'm pretty sure there is a tile of the stuff for every column the wheels run down, but it isn't something I've specifically checked. If that's the case... actually, it probably wouldn't make much difference since you'd be able to catch the wheel on the edge of your shield and avoid the worst of it.
Props to your friend if he managed that on one wheel, by the way. If he walked back, though, that's just cheating.
