There are already alchemers for the more widely used status conditions and then some. Why not spread the love to the others? Stun and poison. After all every alchemer is just a recolor of the same model, how hard could two more be?

Poison is understandable, but the way most players look at it, certain affects are associated with certain damage types.

Shadow:
- Curse

Pierce:
- None

Elemental:
- Freeze
- Shock
- Poison
- Fire

Normal:
- Stun

Making a Stun Alchemer would, in that case, be making a two-shot normal damage gun. I don't know about everyone else, but I always thought of Alchemers as being like 'Magic-in-a-bottle' guns. That is, they deal damage types that are more energy based, like elemental and shadow, instead of more physical damage types, like Pierce and Normal.

That's the way I look at it anyway.

I see your point, but there

I see your point, but there are certain cases where damage types are the same regardless of the status effect. The stagger storm is a bomb that causes stun and deals elemental damage, much like the other bombs in the haze line, for instance.

Of course I'd be nerdy enough to come up with an explanation for that.

Considering Haze/mist bombs are designed to inflict a specific status, they MUST have that specific status in it's effect. However, considering how they're all pretty much the same bomb (just with different status effects), they'd all have the same damage type, in this case, elemental, because shadow would be silly, and normal is just...normal.

I need to get something better to do.

Like writing.

Imma get back to writing.

There should be a Spiral Knights meme....

"I WILL NOT REST UNTIL BRANDISHES AND ALCHEMERS HAVE EVERY POSSIBLE ATTRIBUTE! AAAAHAAHAHAHAHA!"

Sorry...it's just...this happens a lot...

A silly excuse: Haze bombs have 2 components, the inital explosion and the mist release. This justifies the weird combination of elemental and stun.

For poison.... people undersestimate how strong it can be. VV deals a weak version of it, but try Plague Needle -it makes a considerable difference-.
I feel that an alchemer with such power can cause chaos.

It's best not to have access

It's best not to have access to everything via one weapon, or it encourages simply using that weapon for absolutely everything. Haze bombs are the only understandable exception (and even then, they don't get every status) because they're weapons designed for inflicting status, whereas alchemers are designed for inflicting damage with a side order of "ruined yer day". Giving alchs every status would negate the possibility of bringing a VV or Stagger along with you as a recon gunner, for example.

This is also why I oppose a piercing Antigua, as it would be the only weapon in the game that has access to all three damage types, which is not acceptable for a game that's designed and based around mixing and matching your gear for various situations.

@Darkbrady
Oh, I never thought about it that way.

But I was thinking that the low damage per shot would be enough to keep players looking for better alternatives. It's not good enough as a DPS gun, so I just use it as a sidearm and for tactical application.
