Is it true that supernova is better than Neutralizer? What are the best place to use Neutralizer and the best place to use Supernova? (Places, examples: Lockdown,Clockworks,or Direct missions) Thats all i want to know. Thanks :)
Neutralizer Vs. Supernova
Supernova is just the utility of a Polaris, without the damage, and a bit more reliable knockback (Shock sometimes can cause enemies to be unmoved by Polaris shots).
Neutralizer is just kinda "eh" IMO. You need to coordinate with people, else they just kill whatever enemy may have a charge stuck on him. Problem is most other methods just out damage the neutralizer, making the entire process of sticking charges on enemies and detonating them as needlessly complicated.
So it means Neutralizer is good for solo in clockworks and supernova for both solo and party in clockworks, and good for LD at the same time?
There is a reason why pulsars are infinitely more popular.
Catalyzers are more fun, though, and a party full of catas can make quite a mess out of things. Where can you find a group of people willing to full-party catas, you may ask? I might know some people.
For me I would pick Supernova better, its a lot more useful in the clockworks and effective against JK and for Neutralizer is a lot harder to use than Supernova because you will need a lot of accuracy to hit the orbiting shot
I think to hit the orbiting shot we just need to come a little close to the enemy then run.Doesn't its more simple ?
I own the 5 star neutraliser and the 4 star radiant pulsar (5 stars and 4 stars versions of weapons aren't that different).
I have to say that the pulsar line is way easier to use. The thing I love about it most is it can easily catch dodgy enemies such as devilites and gremlins (deconstruction levels are a breeze), bar wolvers. It would work well in lockdown, but it would be outshined by it's elemental counterpart there.
The charge on the neutraliser can interrupt almost anything, and I find it easier to silence turrets with than the pulsar. You do need to aim at the enemy, not the charge, to detonate the sticky bullet with the neutraliser, but the explosion originates from the sticky orb. Neutraliser is fun to use, but isn't competitive unless you are in a party of multiple catalyser users, where they really shine. Do NOT use the normal catalyser in lockdown. It's horrible there in every way.
You might also want to get some opinions on the blaster series.
If you decide to go against the advice of most of the people here and get a neutraliser, I would be happy to do neutraliser runs with you. They can be really fun runs. My IGN is my forum name.
Would you recommend a Neutralizer as a side arm for a bomber? I say this because I want to use a gun sidearm for a bomber alt that acts like a sticky bomb style weapon
Neutraliser can be a great side-arm for a bomber though I haven't played in awhile without ctr boosts, which is what makes this gun shine. It has a pretty decent damage output even without the charge attack, though you do need to anticipate where the enemies are going to be, because the bullets are soooooo slooooowwwww. In saying that, you're a bomber so you should know how to kite. In my opinion the best way to DPS single targets is the to fire off a charge, then fire 2 normal bullets and repeat. It is great against turrets, which is one of the few problematic creatures when playing as a bomber.
A couple of things to note:
When facing mechanights, their shields not only block the normal bullets but the charge attack as well.
If two lichens merge, the sticky orbs that were on them will be removed.
Feel free to add me as a friend in-game.
Yeah, I would say supernova because.... umm........ It's awesome.
It's a great gun but I recommend a Polaris.
Tis got better knockback than the polaris and its more usefull in LD compared to neutralizer. But cata lines are super fun to use in PVE trust me.
Both are different weapons.
the problem with catalyzer its to make it effective you have to use the charge attack then use the normal shot so any enemie with the orbs will explode.
so this weapon its more a "solo" gun than a "solo/party gun". i tell you this because i tried to bring my catalyzer in a party of friends. while i was shooting the mobs with the charge attack and about to shoot the normal fire to explode the mob they killed it before i can make them go BooM. Basically the problem its the Slow speed the shoot have and charge the attack to make it effective.
supernova in other hand its a solo/party gun because basically it just a Polaris without the elemental damage and the shock status. so you can use it anywhere. were you like.
so as other said. Neutralizer it just a "Fun gun" but not a gun that you really would need. something its truth when you managed to stick the 7 orbs and make them go Boom the damage its awesome. but something that requires skills. and mostly to use in solo. unless all in your party have a neutralizer too.
I got both vortex bombs. Then should i get the Catalyzer+ to explode the whole enemy in the vortex or get Pulsar+ to push the enemy to the vortex? (Graviton/Electron)
@Vincent-Tj
You should think what you really want in your weapon, For example if you put an electron vortex then start shooting with Supernova you going to push the enemies away if theyre not at least 4 monsters in the Vortex that the bomb created. with the Supernova is true you can deal a decent damage to the enemies, but Supernova can push away enemies so they will try to going toward you but Supernova will keep them back.
with the Neutralizer you have to shoot the charged shots first, lets say you managed to shoot the 7 orbs in 1 enemy (or you spread it on 3 enemies w/e) then put the vortex to suck the monster with the orbs along with other monsters so you can shoot 1 neutralizer shoot and make them Go Boom and get extra damage from the vortex explosion. but on this way you have to be quick because remember, Neutralizer charged orbs dont last forever. you have some times to make them go Boom before their dissapear.
so basically you have to think what kind of gun you want. if one with push back or one with explosives.
When enemies are vortexed, they stay there for what, 4 seconds or so? By that logic, you can shoot about 2 charge shots of a cata, then detonate. Or you could load some enemies with charges, then vortex them, then blow the charges up.
Or you could just spam some pulsar shots into there, which will have a higher DPS, unless you set up lots of charges beforehand.
Supernova has knockback for crowd control, which is much better in Lockdown and for safer runs of the clockworks.
Neutralizer does a lot of damage with the charges, but requires skill and coordination. Due to the nature of the weapon, it's not so damaging in Lockdown.
