Should players not be able to use heart pendents in PvP but still be able to use them in PvE. Agree or Disagree?

I have been playing Spiral Knights for a long time. I was not in it for the beta, but I joined the community when it went on steam for the first time. Probably one of my most memorable moments was playing Blast Network, during the time right before the launch of Lock Down. I remember staying up all night playing PvP, i even got a rare bomb head from those games. But what I remember most from it all was the people. I was playing with a wonderful group of people who were playing not to farm token, or to get a high score, but to have fun. We played and played and played, until the servers restarted for the Lock Down update. The first time I played Lock Down, I only had 4* gear and I was at a lost compared to some of the further players in the game. However, due to the excellent class balancing at the time, I simply played with my team and worked together for victory. I was addicted to Lock Down and quickly got over 1000 crogmo coins from playing. However soon school came along and I took a break from Spiral Knights for about 6 months. When I returned, I was filled with dread to see how the game had changed. People playing Lock Down only cared about damage now, not the team. Everyone only played as a striker in full scolver. The reason being heart pendants. These items completely unbalanced the PvP. I understand why OOO made it so you could craft them, as to not have 1 super rich guy taking as a striker and murdering everyone. However, the solution is not to make everyone be tanking as striker and running around killing everything. The new items made players completely abandon their teams, and ran off on their own. I have told a story, and now I will tell my solution. I understand how the community will react if OOO takes heart pendants out of the game, so I instead suggest that they simply ban heart pendants from Lock Down. These items ruined a wonderful game that I used to love. Now I rarely play Lock Down and i regret playing it every time a do. I am begging you OOO, please make Lock Down about teamwork, and not items.

I would appreciate it if the people posting here too as much time and effort with their posts as I did, so not to give into hasty emotions.

If they completely ban all trinkets the modules could give everyone a bunch of health so everyone has more health to live a little longer. Not the same amount for each module and each tier would have proportionate health bonuses. For example, in T3 Striker gives +10, Guardian +30, and Recon +20 for some generic numbers.

Find the people out there who share your passion and experience, I never play Lockdown. They should have better numbers from personal experience than I can make up.

Lockdown is Fine the way it is

Lockdown is fine the way it is. If you have a ton of trinkets and you use skolver, fine. Nobody said that you couldn't just be a recon and still own everyone that way with no trinkets. Most of the "good players" in lockdown will still beat you up even without trinkets. You just have to be skilled, whether your a bomber or a sword striker who uses a flourish. Anyways, some good players just use energy revives so it's pointless to kill them.

Also, if somebody bought energy, converted some of it to money, and made trinkets for lockdown, why would three rings want to make it pointless for people to buy more energy to make trinkets if it's giving them money. Taking away trinkets in lockdown is a good reason to stop people from buying trinket slots too. This idea is bad for business.

LD was never balanced. The only reason it appeared balanced in the beginning was because people hadn't figured out the optimal loadouts. I'm actually in the same situation as you, except without the 6-month break. When the update that introduced PvP came out, I loved BN and I played it alot. (though, really, I quickly lost interest because honestly I suck at it.) Then LD came out, and it was even better. I remember thinking, "Yeah, PvP done right in SK! finally!" I was 2* then, and I AA spammed all over the place. I didn't know anything about balance. And I didn't care, it was just a fun gamemode. (looking back though, the Wolver set/Toothpick combo was already dominant. I had it even before there was PvP). Then the 12/12/11 patch was released. In my opinion nothing good came out of that patch, besides an influx of new players who wanted nothing more than to hit someone with a snowball and get a steam achievement. That patch gave us two other things: Frost(lag)bite, and heart trinkets. Lag bad map design, and imbalance. Great patch, OOO.

Really, though, if you want to discuss this further, go here. Much more content there.
