Minase

"Quinoxus" stole it from me, but I believe it was an alternate account!

Three Rings, now is a wonderful time to find out who and finally seek out justice for one of your LOYAL customers/players.

If anyone has information on who posted it, mail me in game: Minase

THANK YOU!

-update

On a side note:
The other day when the item was stolen from me, I sent in a ticket for help request. All I received was an automated message saying, "Hi! We received the complaint you sent in. Thank you. Please keep in mind that while we investigate all complaints thoroughly, we can make no guarantee of any particular outcome." -Hyperion

Then my ticket was closed as if it was solved.

Thank you for so much help Three Rings.

Bump

I can attribute this item as Minase's; I actually thought it was one of my friend's, but I couldn't place where... either Rating or Minase; I was wondering where this had come from.

wow.

i saw this on the AH and just assumed minase had decided to sell it on the AH after yelling it in trade chat for weeks on end. It is 100% without a doubt minase's gear (unless he still has one just like it in his inventory---which obviously isn't the case).

I wish the best for you, minase, but i fear the worst. OOO seems to value customer disservice above all else when it comes to requests that involve them going beyond the normal scope of duties.

I too, am curious how they stole it? First thought is hacked account, but if they did that, then it seems they'd have stolen everything. I hope they fix it for you, regardless of how it happened.

I don't know why OOO rejected

I don't know why OOO rejected minases plead for help and assistance, I've known minase for quite a while now and I trust that their claim is true.
This isn't minuses fault, it's mainly OOO's for not making a preview option of all gears.

If yous would want to know why minase let the scammer preview her item the answer is quite clear, Like any merchant minase is looking for a sale and letting this person preview it might peak their interests in buying the item. If there were a preview option for all gears none of this would have happened.

Merchants take risks, risks involving losing their items due to someone's harsh decision, It would be most convenient OOO's give minase their items back and persecutee the scammer along with considering to make a preview option of all items.

Thank You!

It's not possible for items

It's not possible for items to be stolen if you use the built-in game trading interfaces (in-game or steam).

If you attempted to trade based on "trust" outside of the built-in interface, you and noone else are responsible for the risks involved.

If the buyer wants to preview, ask for a security deposit (an item or the energy/cr).

I was with Minase that day when he was with the thief 'Quinoxus' that stole his Vitasuit Plus. Minase has been selling that Vitasuit for weeks, it has Toasty Wings and something else on it that I couldn't remember.

To those who are curious im how it got stolen, basically it happened like this:

1. I was wondering around when I ran into their conversation, Quinoxus is willing to 'buy' Minase's Vitasuit Plus.
2. They established trust and Minase traded him the suit in order for him to preview.
3. After a while he threw some words like 'You just got scammed by a hoe' something like that and left.
4. We were like 'WT&^$^?'
5. Then I told him to send in a support ticket to GMs.

It is not Minase to blame here but some player's own integrity of being a good citizen in Spiral Knights.

The outcome of this should be like:
1. Never trust anyone unless you know them well (This is cruel, but works if you don't want to get scammed), for instance you have traded with him for a long time, you may trust him, simple. I can hand 30k CE to one of my good friends without worrying them /ignore-ing me.
2. Make screenshots of costumes you're selling.
3. Inspect the buyer, 'Quinoxus' was a nooby looking 3*, why would someone with barely 3* gear spend 30k ce to buy an accessorised costume that serves for no purposes in terms of fighting? Normally they should try get 5* instead.

"Established trust," rofl. I

"Established trust," rofl.

I have a suggestion for you:

If you absolutely don't want to be scammed, don't trust anyone, even people that think you may know well. Always ask for security deposit, or just tell them that you can reverse the trade if they don't like it (trade the items back to each other).

The GMs aren't there to babysit people who don't use the trading system implemented in the game as it is meant to be used.

Whatever yah say heat, I'm

Whatever yah say heat, I'm pretty sure if that was you getting scammed you'de make a HUGE deal out of it, so don't try be some kinda administrator with your words claiming your wiser then others..

I could insure if you we're trying to sell that suit for weeks and a suspecting buyer wanted to preview it considering it might peak their interests I'm sure you'de let them preview it, don't try be a knowed all.

Of your objecting to the fact gm's didn't even respond to minase, just an automessage and later on closing the thread as if they solved it maby your quinoxus's alt or main, or just another one of them with "knowledge" and "experience".

I am wiser than others, it's

I am wiser than others, it's pretty obvious from this thread.

I've been scammed before. I sucked it up, learned from my mistake, and went my way - because that's all you can do when you've made a mistake.

A GM can't know what the situation is. There could be legitimate uneven trades, so by reversing a trade, a GM might be scamming the other person. How are they to know?

The ONLY thing you have is the chat line "You just got scammed by a hoe," and I'm not sure how long the servers keep chat logs for (probably not very long but I may be wrong) so this is your only hope.

From: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Complain

"Wrong trade* — Because Game Masters can't know what the agreement with the trade was, they are not able to assist players in this aspect of the game and do not recover items for players. Try to talk to the other player and work it out instead. Please remember in the future to be careful and never trade anything away unless you would be okay with the other player not returning the item."

That's your answer.

If they closed the ticket, they probably thought that it wasn't worth replying to?

I totally get what surge is saying, when someone speaks the truth its always hard to take in, but please someone tell me what he wrote is not true. I also feel for minase aswell, seen the guy always in haven selling some really fine stuff, has a good attitude about him and to lose something you posses in the way he has is unjustifiable. Shame on the person who scammed him, but its also a shame that minase trusted someone he didnt know. There has been a quite alot of people who have been scammed in game, most of the reasons behind that are similar to what has happened here, learn from your mistakes and move on. I might get some stick from this post, i dont see why as i'm not trying to put anyone down or teach anyone a lesson, it just makes sense. Chances are you will never meet the person who is your best friend or you speak to everyday "in game", once you leave this game you leave everything behind, trust nobody but respect everybody. I hope something gets resolved, unlikely his item will come back but getting rid of people who enjoy what this person has done to minase is always welcome. Best of luck.

This is a game, play it enjoy it.

Had a similar problem like this, hear me out.

Although it was your good citizenship towards another player that deserves a second chance and a refund of your item, ToS notes that all unfair trades that you accept to, is your responsibility and yours only. I gave a friend 100k crowns and never got it back just because he didn't feel like giving it back. Being nice doesn't help in some occasions and definitely not in this game. Some people do take in your kindness and return the favor while some live off of scamming and some sort of welfare (even in real life).

The only thing a GM will do for you is get the scammer banned. There is less than a 2% chance you will get the item back, sorry to say. I for one love the kindness you showed towards another player with such a valuable item, but keep in mind that not everyone is alike. Good luck with everything and I will gladly send a complaint towards this player(Quinoxus)

P.S; To all other commenters/readers; Please send an in-game complaint towards this player to make sure he is banned, that way he doesn't do this to anyone else.

Though this is 30kce worth

Though this is 30kce worth we're talking about, there was a simaler incident in which white lancer gave his password to a friend to do his daily prestige for him. He ended up writing a plead for support on the forums, he literally got what he wanted and most of his stuff back, me and minase would appreciate if the gm's gave some level of concern.

Somehow everyone supported him, why not minase huh? The stuff he had was probably worth around 100kce all together well minases case is simaler. I appreciate your advice heatsurge, I respect the knowledge you posses but this is worth fighting for. Others have gotten their stuff back so why not minase? Can't she at least give it a go?, whats wrong with that. And I'm sure anyone who has lost an item of that value would at least have a go and fight for it even at the smallest possibilty instead of just letting it pass.

So I say if others have won these sort of cases why not minase?

@Yomigama; you should figure

@Yomigama; you should figure out the facts before getting all mad. OOO DID NOT give whitelancer his gear back, the person who STOLE it is the one who ended up giving it back. I'v been playing this game for over a year and have never once heard of a case of someone getting scammed getting thier loot back. It does suck but at the same time im sure its very hard to prove otherwise.

The best you can do at this point, is follow Icegills advice and report him so he gets banned and is out of the SK Community

Iv delt with Minase before and know him to be a good merchant, this is sad to see something like this happen to you. D:

i'm unique

UV is my forum alt, but i'm not hades, minase, yomi, or any of the above people.

We all simply happen to agree that OOO should step in when someone gets scammed. IMO, OOO should work towards restoring the scammee to his previous position and the scammer should get permanently banned. OOO should fix the trade system to allow for a safe and easy means to make deals happen. And they should apply common sense in handling these issues when they arise.

It would be very helpful if we could preview an item from the trade screen. If we could do a three way trade amongst players, and a three way trade with vice the unbind guy--allowing for the trade to be made at the same time as unbind. It would be worth the effort to implement these things, ultimately it would save them time by allowing to not have to deal with so many support tickets for scamming.

The current system is serviceable, but not very good. It creates an environment ripe for scamming, and OOO's laissez faire attitude towards scammers encourages their objectionable behavior. I know first hand of a scammer who stole unbind fee from a friend, and he's been on the forums and in trade chat every day since then. So 100% he did not even get a temp ban, and probably didn't get punished.

Its only a matter of time before this player, and minase's scammer, both strike again.

Minases item has been retrieved :)

Thanks to OOO and The gm team, for doing what was right and giving minase her item back.

Well bloodorange, this is the first time you saw someone get their item back.....

I guess this was worth fighting for, even at the smallest chance.

Thank you OOO's!

@Yomigama 1. gave me a hard

@Yomigama
1. gave me a hard time in LD? news to me, thats not how i recall our matches.

2. re-read my post, what i was saying to YOU, was that the story you told about Whitelancer was false, which it was. I talked to Whitelancer about that and I know the person who stole his gear is the one who gave it back. You are making OOO look bad for something that had nothing to do with them, so I informed you how it worked.

3. I am glad minase got the item back, I have bought/traded with minase in the past, again if you read what i wrote you would have saw that. So Idon't know where you come off typing any of your previous comment.
