Bolted Blade.
Most people won't even recognize it. They will likely think it's a brandish.

least used weapon ever?

Tie, between the Deadly Crystal Bomb and Heavy Deconstructor (oh look bombs, I wonder what those are :?)

Now, you're better off asking about least used armor...

And to that, I offer but only one answer...
Royal Jelly Armor

I have only seen ONE COSTUME use ROYAL JELLY ARMOR (not to be confused with it's ice queen variant).

Anyway, I see bolted blade in LD oft enough... you know, the few times we actually do t1. But yeah.

Deadly shard bomb for sure.

I'm the only player that I've ever seen to seriously use it- and even then, I just bring it for Clockwork Tunnel levels as a counter to danger rooms. Its meh for several of the possible patterns there, but for most other things, its blargh.

Not to worry, I use the heavy deconstructor too. Its better than nitronome for constructs, and for any level that you aren't soloing... though BAB and ITD beat it for party play.

I know it!

It is most surely the Thwack Hammer.

And yes, I DO know what a Bolted Blade looks like, and I've seen someone (attempting; in his defence, he was a newb, ergo the hipster choice) using a Cautery Sword in the Clockworks.

Against Undead.

Ah well.

Deadly Shard Bomb; like Crystal, but normal damage.
I've seen a few people using the elemental Crystal. It's not the best bomb in the world, but it's usable.

I've seen quite a few people with the wrench wand out in the advanced training hall though... cautery is perhaps the rarest, but I'm still thinking that deadly shard bomb is still rarer, just because it costs more to make.

.

i have a friend that uses cautery sword. he is a bomber, and probably uses the cautery as a sidearm. weird.

i was doing JK with a T2 guy, he said something like "would be better if i brought my cautery sword".

normal shard bombs must be the rarest equipment that has an alchemy line ends at 5*. i don't even know their names, gonna check.
"shard bomb, x shard bomb, y shard bomb...". i smell creativity.

and you got those armor sets that focus on status resistances, i rarely see the frostbreaker helm as a costume. even newbies don't touch it. looks like the stat weaknesses are what makes them inferior to other T1 armor. however, blizzbreaker set is great for UIMF.

edit: deadly shard bomb can be even more rare than darkfang shield, unless there are more than 9 collectors.

Are you serious? I see them all the time, and I've only racked up 500 hours of gameplay! I actually find it kind of odd how I keep running into Triglav users everywhere, but I've only seen two people besides myself use a Sudaruska.

Maybe I'm like you, and I'm just always in the wrong places at the wrong times when it comes to meeting other Sudaruska users.

@Aureate

Sure, I see a player every now and then who uses plate mail as costume...

But as for an actual plate user? I've only met two besides myself who actually wear the things.

i also own a supernova. in fact it was my first 5* gun, and i dont recommend it.

flamberge and rigadoon are pretty rare lines imo as well; i've only seen one of each and both instances were when pvp was first launched. i'd also say WHB, ironslug, any of the 5* shard bombs, irontech bomb lines, deconstructor lines, circuit breaker line, ironmight set, virulisk set and others.

Darkfang shield should really be discounted from this... its basically unimplemented, as people cannot attain it under normal circumstances or without extraneous amounts of effort/money.

Flamberg and rigadoon are essentially worthless as weapons, but I see them quite often compared to the deadly shard bomb and the pure piercing/dark shard bombs' 5*. I'm the only player that I've ever seen use the bulk of the items I use.

Even though I'm kind of new

I never (read: rarely) see:

Pure Normal Weapons/ Shields (Omega shell, Iron slug, Valiance, Cold Iron Vanquisher)

Rigadoons/Flamberges (Although I think the added effects make them worth it! Stun on a devilite? Delicious. )

Further on the normals: It's like nobody has the uniqueness to proudly use and excel with a normal type weapon, even when presented with the fact that they perform equally across the board instead of choking when presented with something that overpowers them). I understand people thing callahan is much better than iron slug because it practically oneshots devilites or levi is better than vanq because it does more damage to non-undeads and sends mobs flying, but those advantages are situational. Personally, I'd prefer a solid gun or sword or shield rather than several swords or shields against the presumed prevailing mob in a level.

I may be missing something, but I don't see how people generally opt for a Grand flourish (higher damage, no status) over, say a rigadoon, then turn around and say a normal type weapon that doesnt do status is rendered useless by a different branch weapon that does less, but has a damage type.

Ridagoon/Flamberge pros

Ridagoon/Flamberge pros Compared to Flourish
----------------------
Can Stun/Cause Fire

Cons
---------------------
~7% less Damage

If its that well balanced, then why do nobody usually touches them????

7% isnt much.

7% isnt much, and is certainly not irreplaceable by uvs. On top of that, the fire status may do well over the lost damage over time, and the rigadoon will stun dodging enemies so you can get more hits in/ your party can get more hits in.

"it isn't well balanced because most people say it isn't well balanced/nobody uses it" is a poor argument, because the majority could be wrong (and frankly I think they are when it comes to these lines, unless someone can prove my error in reasoning.)

In fact, I could go so far to say, in this instance, that Rigadoon/Flamberge would be a BETTER choice than flourish, because of those very same attributes.

But I won't, because situational usages are situational. a pure piercing flourish could have its advantages, especially for soloing.

Rigadoon and Flamberge aren't uncommon in t2 LD; I find that Flamberge's fire helps to keep Recons unshielded and helps break Guardian shields, although its proc rate is annoyingly low, and the Stun is good at cutting Strikers (and other classes) down to size.

Volt Breaker doesn't really look good as costume gear, so I guess it's not unusual that it doesn't get seen.
My alt is currently using Brute Jelly, but only because it comes from Jelly Gems and is therefore cheap...

Well, being a hipster.

I use the shields I wear, bytheway.

Volt Breaker is awesome.
I actually use Ancient Plate set on one of my guys. I also use a Fang of Vog and a Blight needle regularly on him.
CHAOS SET! The CTR bonus and attack bonus are wonderful for a hybrider like myself; also, I tend to use either a Triglav or Winmillion and my Biohazard on this fella. See, Heavy-Dragon? Some people love normal weapons. :D

I'm trying to become an avid user with all fun but unused weapons or lesserused armor. (Sofar, Chaos Set and Catalyzer is the funnest. People should use that more.)

Heavenly Iron is actually quite good, though, that's the thing.

The only armor I think I've never seen someone wear as serious armor outside of a joke/heating/costume would probably be Deadly Virulisk or Arcane Salamander. I've seen Volcanic Salamander a few times for whatever reason, but I don't think ever the other 2.

How about...

Crown and armor of the fallen? Nobody likes that fiend penalty. I would also say the heavenly iron set is pretty uncommon too.

I am actually going to craft fearless rigadoon, supernova, and the deadly shard bomb. I also own the chaos set, omega shell, wrench wand and cautery sword (which I take to RJP quite often). Nobody has mentioned my precious neutraliser or pepperbox, or biohazard for that matter, are they becoming mainstream?

As to the piercing swords, I find it odd the main reason for getting the final flourish is 'it kills enemies too quickly to matter about status', yet the drop in damage of the status versions will probably not be enough to matter about the swings:kill ratio.

TL;DR I own or will own in the future many of the items mentioned here.

I don't see the CIC/CIV too often, but they're not that rare. I haven't seen a Shocking Edge either. I haven't seen either the Biohazard or the Neutralizer, but I'm sure some use them. People probably use the Stagger Storm, but not many, and the same with the Voltaic Tempest. I've learned those two recipes, by the way, but will probably not get around to making them for many months (solid F2P). I don't see the Bombastic Demo set that much. As for shields, the Omega Shell and Heater Shield are hard to find.
