Heat Transferal Unit:
Cost: 100CE-150CE

The Heat Transferal Unit (henceforth referred to as "H.T.U") can be attached to an item of the players choosing, whereupon said item will receive heat gained in the Clockworks/Missions without needing to be equipped by the player. The H.T.U would last around 7 days (unless the player chooses to remove it earlier than that), and carries across when the parent item is upgraded (i.e. If a 4-star item with a H.T.U attached is upgraded to 5-star, the H.T.U will still be in effect on it)

For the sake of economics attaching the H.T.U should also probably bind the item to the player, otherwise 4-5 star gear would probably plummet in value due to lack of unbinding needed.

Heat Slot Token (alt. concept):
Cost: 350CE

Upgrades a Weapon slot into a Heat Slot. Heat Slots can have Armour and Shields equipped in them to gain heat (though there is no statistical benefit to doing so) in addition to working just like a regular Weapon Slots. They last for 30 days just like a regular Weapon Token.

If both Weapon slots already have tokens, then using a Heat Slot Token will "upgrade" one of the Weapon Tokens into a Heat Slot token, but with the weapon tokens timer being put "on hold" until the Heat Slot Token is done.

Example: When a Weapon Slot with 28 days left is upgraded with a Heat Slot token , the upgraded slot will spend 30 days as a Heat Slot, then go back to the 28 day Weapon Slot.

Mhmm

30 days is a considerably long time to heat up a gear, even if it is 5 star. Consider making it 1 day or 2 days, and that price could stay.

I think 2 days would be a little too low, but I agree that it needs reducing a bit

I don't see the need for this. This kinda removes the sink for extra weapon slots.

I imagine this would be more for armour than weapons.

The original idea actually was actually an upgraded "weapon slot+" token that you could equip armour/shields* into in order to heat them up in addition to being able to equip weapons like normal weapon slots.

I'll post that as an alt. concept.

*Though you got no benefit for doing so outside of easier heating.

On a random note...

I just figured something. The reason why GM Armor has heat, but not stats, is because GMs are invunerable. Why'd I never think of that before?

I don't think "override" is

I don't think "override" is the right word. I'd rather that it slip in "before" the weapon slot, so that the duration left on the weapon slot is preserved, and when the heat slot expires it switches back to the weapon slot as normal.

We'd also need a new mechanism for attaching the HTU seeing as how there's nothing comparable in existence.

I'm pretty sure GMs aren't "invulnerable" so much as they just have infinite CE for revives, I remember seeing at least one video of some GM dying to fire trying to fix a bugged Vanaduke
