According to another thread (Thanks, Verodius), the red presents in the Save Winterfest mission give a MSD/ASD Max! debuff. Also according to that thread, having an MSI Med (from Mercurial) puts it down, not to Very High, but to Ultra.

Because of this, what are the effects of the following on movement/attack speed with a red present and:
- 1. Full Ancient Plate set
- 2. Mixed Ancient Plate/Mercurial
- 3. Full Mercurial
in actuality on movement and attack speeds?

As the ASD/MSD has already hit Max!, then, in theory, Ancient Plate will have no debuffs at all and would therefore be the definitive best set for Save WInterfest! .

Thoughts? Post below.

To answer your examples:

The penalty is a -7, it's just that the "extra" -1 doesn't take effect unless you have a +1 bonus to ASI/MSI

For example having a Red Present (-7 MSD) while wearing one piece of Mercurial Mail/Demo (+1 MSI) is still -6 MSD and therfore still a Max decrease. If you were to equip the other piece of Mercurial Mail/Demo (for a total of +2 MSI) then it'd be -5 MSD (Ultra)

To answer your examples:
- 1. Full Ancient Plate set (Penalties stay at Max/Max)
- 2. Mixed Ancient Plate/Mercurial (same as 1, as Ancient Plates own penalties more than cancel out anything Mercurial would do)
- 3. Full Mercurial (MSD Ultra)

Even without it's penalties, Ancient Plate probably wouldn't be much good anyway on account of having no Shadow Resistance.

Also by "another thread" did you mean this thread, by chance?

Remember, you're only carrying a present half the time. Ancient Plate will still slow your trips back to the cube.

@All

Vero: Thanks a lot. Yes, that was the thread (putting in a link now).
My idea regarding the APlate set was to use the massive amount of reserve health it has without any drawbacks (for half the time at least, as Orb pointed out), and that it would be a relatively cheap 5* to use in higher-level Winterfest missions.

Orb: This is true, although most people who use APlate/Mercurial have regarded an MSI/D Med as practically unnoticeable. Assuming you only attack with a present, you're laughing.
