Hello,

I finally got my hands on a nice troika and have been looking into crafting it up. Most likely for LD use seeing as almost every other item I have would be more efficient than a troika for PvE. The generally agreed opinion seems to be that Suda is superior to Triglav due to greater second swing safety in PvE (no freeze chance) and has a more useful status. On the other hand I think a Triglav would look pretty sweet with a snowfall aura and divine mantle :P

Any thoughts?

Aiden

If you would only use a Triglav cosmetically, that UV would be better spent on Sudaruska. You can always build cosmetics later without UVs and use them instead on practical equipment.

Try it out in the Clockworks sometimes. You may be surprised by the joy it brings.

Hmm

Haha well I have more than enough practical UV'd equipment. Excepting my current lack of piercing weapons because I received an offer I couldn't refuse :P

I guess you do have a point though. Can you elaborate a bit on why Sudaruska is more practical than Triglav? I think I understand the mechanics but a first hand review would be great (:

It seems the two weapons would be equally useful in lockdown, triglav might even have a slight advantage due to the 2nd swing status chance? And it seems likely that I would be using it in lockdown almost exclusively anyway; that's pretty much the only place I use my DA nowadays anyway.

Besides one should never overlook the power of a good looking weapon ;D I would never trade my wild hunting blade in for a DVS! xD

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Suda is generally considered more practical since you aren't liable to freeze monsters in your face.
This is a bit of a drawback if you're trying to fling slags away from you.

Question

Could I get a first-hand account from someone with a Triglav who've actually frozen a monster in their face and then gotten attacked by them?

Because I never had that happen with my Triglav. Every time I freeze a monster it's because I hit them with an attack strong enough to interrupt whatever they were doing.

I've had it happen with a Jalovec. But then that's only the 4* version so it probably wasn't doing enough damage.

Triglav

Triglav's status chance is lower + stronger (STRONG effect), but can happen on normal hits and charge.
Sudaruska's status chance is higher + weaker (MODERATE effect), but only happens on charge.

Of course, both benefit from ASI and CTR, but because of how you can get the statuses, Triglav naturally lends itself to ASI, and Sudaruska naturally lends itself to CTR.

---

Also, as far as LD goes, invincibility frames really gimp the charge's double hit:
The weak first hit will trigger invincibility and the second stronger hit will deal no damage, so you can't count on it unless:
- You have a freeze to hold them in place for a perfectly-spaced charge the misses the first hit and lands the second
- You can perfectly time with shock so it shocks at the same time that you land the charge so you land both hits.

SO, better off sticking with normal hits, ASI, etc...

Triglav.

Thanks guys ;D

This forum got me much better feedback and info than I'd expected. Some pretty interesting stuff; hadn't heard about the trig interrupt negating the freeze danger or LD invincibility frames interfering with the charge hit.

I'm leaning quite heavily towards triglav and now feel more justified about making it ^.^

See you all around~

@Zeddy

I'm at least 80% sure Troika line's 2nd hit stops interrupting zombies at or past depth 25, even with max damage boost.

I may also be confusing it for Iron Slug, which also starts to have interruption issues around depth 25 as well.

If that's so then Triglav

If that's so then Triglav doesn't necessarily naturally lend itself to ASI; if the status is an unwanted one then it would be more useful to have CTR on a Triglav and ASI on a Suda that won't inflict unwanted freeze.

eh

Well, I guess it depends on how you use it. If you hit monsters at an angle (ex: doing 2 slashes using the hold-chargestep-release method instead of two attack commands), it's fine.

But yes, if you're hitting monsters head on, it doesn't do much for you.

Huh. It hadn't occurred to me to use that method to shift the angle. I obviously need to learn how to use heavy swords.
