ASI on Bombs

I think there's a general consensus that ASI on bombs affects how fast the the knight picks up or retracts a bomb between charging.

Since having a Swiftstrike buckler is the only way to apply ASI on bombs (which in the long run is generally pointless), morbid curiosity struck me and I wondered how would a bomb act if it suddenly had MAX ASI as an attribute. Would it be noticeable at all?

Of course I think this only matters is if one also has MAX CTR, which would in theory (paired with ASI MAX) make the drop and detonation almost instantaneous.

I remember reading somewhere that at one point, dropping bombs was instant.

TL:DR- Would MAX ASI on a bomb be worth it if possible?

CTR affects the charging of the bomb only.

Some say ASI affects the speed of lifting the bombs etc. Max asi on a bomb is impossible, probably due to the fact that asi was not intended on bombs.

- ASI does affect the speed of picking up (and importantly, letting go of an uncharged bomb). If anything, this is more noticeable in a situation where you find yourself unable to shield anymore (hint: not PVE). On a side note, I sometimes 'dance' with bombs, and swiftstrike + fallen (Ultra ASI) set does kind of make a noticeable difference in how much time it takes while putting down the bomb before I can run again. Of course, if you can shield-cancel, it doesn't matter.

- ASI wouldn't be worth it if possible. The effect would be so minute in comparison to charge time, even though it will, of course, affect your overall bombing rate. It's more of a last-optimization thing.

Get max asi on a sword. The effect is noticeble but in no way instant.
Consider bonuses work on a percentage not on a fixed amount.

To OP. Yes it does. ASI affects your delay between consecutive deployment of your bombs. You can already feel it when you equip Swiftstrike Buckler or Fallen set (with the results more noticeable with a higher CTR bomb).

Yes!

As Eltia just mentionned, ASI reduce the time it takes to "bring up your bomb before charging"

As a huge bomber love, BN player and Mad Bomber Set wielder.

I can confirm that it does reduce the time to "bring up your bomb before charging" and "uncharging" it. But the bonus is so little to the CTR bonus

My GM thought that ASI would actually make the bombs explode faster, which I think, could be a great idea for ASI boost on bomber and would make people actually want ASI as much as CTR (I know I would)

Your GM is wrong. There is no FTR (Fuse Time Reduction), despite several suggestion to the Devs.

ASI is most useful to broad swords (DA / GF) and slow guns (e.g. Blitz). I found it is nice to have ASI on bombs but its usefulness is not as great as swords and guns.

FALCON PUNCH!

Can someone tell me what the Movement speed increase on merc does for bombs? I equipped a bomb while wearing merc and it said the bomb had movement speed increased medium.

It let you move faster when you have a charged bomb... Pretty convenient, you can dodge more easily, we ran some test and it adds a flat bonus speed.

So you basically move faster in every way (charged bomb vs charged bomb, normal vs normal) but the bonus isn't that much but still considerable over a long period of time, try with a friend in the training. Start on the far left (or right) and do a race :D

You run faster while charging. While wearing full merc, you are able to slightly run faster than other people even when charging a nitro. It makes a huge difference when fighting fast-running enemies such as mecha knights.
