Although I think the numbers showing up with every hit would be annoying and may make you vulnerable, this idea may be good for specific purposes. For example, knowing how does each weapon deal damage, science like Zeddy said.

I am not sure if I should give +1... I think I will go for +0.5

No, getting distracted doesn't matter. You can turn off numbers in the options if it's a problem.

@mtax:
I would assume monsters use the same HP system we do, so it shouldn't be that hard. It can't be completely different, because our weapons work the same on each other as on monsters.
And one bar of HP actually is made up of 4 pieces, only 2 of them visible.

@Dragneel: You can still turn the numbers off from the menu, like in the clockworks.

Proceeding the explosion...

Sorry to pop your bubbles, but what is the point of damage numbers when you hit someone? They are not the same as enemies. Each Hp is worth about 1 or 2. Do you think that you can lose 200 hp at once? No, it's impossible. Sure, the damage table is high, but still, I don't think using enemy damage is worth doing the same as other knights. It would also be confusing.

Invalid. No.

I agree, though I think it should be more of an option for players that prefer the old bars falling off of enemies. Also it would be nice if they included a custom color to the numbers depending on what weapon you're using. That's just me though.

It's possible. All they have to do is show us how much HP we have now out of our maximum next to the HP bar. Though Kliplik should have went into the details more I suppose. Anyway I'm not going to get into it that much for now. Kind of busy.

However, we shouldn't show

However, we shouldn't show how much health you have in PvE or else it ruins the atmosphere of the game.

I don't see the point in

I don't see the point in it... sure, you can more accurately determine damage you inflict, and receive.. but you still have no idea how much health your enemy has left. Heck, I see the numbers in PvE to only have one use: show the damage the weapon does. It doesn't tell you how close your target is to dying, and determining which weapon to use against which players doesn't require numbers. You should be able to recognise their defenses are, and oppose them accordingly.

@Klipik: A bar made up of 4 pieces isn't much use. The bar isn't equal to 4 health, if it was, knights wouldn't be able to sustain damage from much (assuming they use the same damage/health system). 40, as Zeddy said, makes plenty more sense.

However, I'm not for nor against it. I just don't see the point.

Apparently OOO's thinks there's plenty of point in it with PvE. So why don't you ask them? :P We just want it for what you said. It measures more accurately.

Damage is calculated in numbers. Look at the result screen.

Heck, so many people have pumped egos due to those numbers.

Last time I checked, needing something was a good reason for wanting it.
