Would MSI med on mercurial mail really be that OP?

Especially now that we've got MSI low + damage bonus high.... shouldn't mercurial, the original MSI armor, be the number one source of MSI?

Move to the suggestions forum

While it would be nice for Mercurial to get a buff, the speed increase might just be too much. Speed increases have to be large enough to be noticeable, but cannot be significantly faster compared to players without MSI.

My take is that the helm should get MSI: Med, and the armor should get ASI: Low and MSI: Low, to keep the movement speed increase from being too powerful.

I don't want this in the suggestions, I just want to talk about if it would be OP. I've already suggested it.

If each level increases speed by the same amount and ends up bein OP, OOO could change the coding so each level gives diminishing returns.

I think MSI VHS would be too much. I'm basing this off of the movement speed differences from the two Save Winterfest boxes (red had MSD 7).

I think the better solution would be to remove the MSI from the BKC.

That'd balance the BKC, but would make it far less desirable. And I like MSI.

MSI low doesn't effect knights as much as people would like. It's hardly noticeable and I feel MSI med on mercurial set would not be OPed at all and would make it a sound investment. Though we need more data on MSI and MSD before making an assumption.

I don't really like the way OOO has bonuses set up right now. Keeping MSI low per piece is a little bit too low, but as soon as you bump the bonuses up to med, everyone's zipping around at 20 ish percent extra speed.

Personally, I think MSI and DMG bonuses should scale logarithmically, ie. the more bonus you have, the less you get for each additional level. That would allow people to boost their weapons while keeping everyone in about the same area.

Also, making mercurial as OP as the other OP stuff isn't the answer.

Logarithmic increase could be nice, but maybe we could start by trying linear? At the moment it's exponential, making splitting up your bonuses a poor move.

You know what'd be awesome? If we could run MSI Med mercurial on the testing server. It'd help to see it in action, or... hear from people who saw it via the testing server forum.

Actually in the beta, Vog cub

Actually in the beta, Vog cub gear had MSI Med on each piece, which was extremely fast.

I actually enjoyed moving really fast, but I'm still concerned if med MSI is balanced.

This isn't a suggestion, she

This isn't a suggestion, she is simply having a discussion on the power of MSI and whether or not that power would make a net MSI med too powerful.

Well, I personally think it wouldn't be OP.

I'd love MSI med on each piece. Trading in the damage bonuses provided by other sets in favor of an increased speed would definitely allow for more variety. Currently, the Med MSI is nearly unnoticeable and not worth the loss in ASI, CTR, or DMG provided by the other, better armor.
Those who even bother getting MSI tend to go for the Mercury Demo Set that is far superior to the original Mercury. (Things that deal piercing damage aren't even that scary and mecha knights are all about shock.)

I'd love to actually move fast instead of hitting fast/hard. Perhaps to better scale it, they could have a freeze vulnerability along with the ASI med? That way, Lockdown matches wouldn't be ruled by Mercury guys because having everyone in PvP being super fast clones dashing around everywhere would be a horrible thing without a proper vulnerability.

Oh no you didn't! Editing your comment to hide the fact that you got told is a easy way to lose respect.

You can easily tell that the comment was edited because the time stamp is after Duke replied.

For those who didn't see it, the original comment went along the lines of;

@Oatmonster, Didn't you notice it was just a joke?

Bleh, I was joking around

Bleh, I was joking around too. I know the post time changes when you edit it, I've been on this forum for a long enough time, if I wanted to erase all the evidences, didn't it come to your mind I would have edited the very first post which brought up all this nonsense.../clap Sherclock (If you still don't believe me feel free to look up some of my WTS threads where I used this technique to bump my thread without needing to repost).

And yeah the first joke was about Fehzor getting mad her threads get always moved to suggestions. Yeah I know it was bad, who cares.

But I forgot that

Btw, since you're such a genius the original message was "No spit Sherlock. It was a joke in case you didn't notice..." At least, if you're going all Sherclock, get the details right.

Now that I lost all due respect and self-esteem as a human, time to pass on a rope ヾ(××)ツ

Would there be any videos about this? I'd like to see exactly how fast it was.

@Haters

Why are we arguing about whether we respect each other on the internet?

Lets all pretend to be civil as we angrily discuss how slow we move...

Maybe they should just add MSI med to the recon shield.

@Fehzor

Unfortunately, no. The Vog cub gear was nowhere similar to the Vog cub we have today - it was towards the end of the beta where OOO made drastic changes (ASI and MSI med) and I and a few others (you could count them on your hand) happened to have the set at the time. I really had no reason to record the movement speed of the armor and I doubt that the others had much reason to either.

MSI was removed upon release and Magnus posted a rant/petition on the forums at release two years ago: If you dig through the forums enough, you might happen to be able to find it.
