I wouldn't mind liking it, so I've given it a try a several times, but the whole running around killing one another, dying, waiting, and running around some more just isn't fun.

I don't need an explanation of how to play the game or on strategy. I understand that fine.

Maybe you can just tell me why you like it.

I really don't like it because of their behavior. But when I play it, I don't feel alive and I start to be competitive :P

simply because of more interaction between players. Some people just like online game because of pvp feature or something related like guild vs guild.

Well monster AI becomes

Well monster AI becomes boring, predictable, and repetitive after fighting the same ones over and over. However in LD every player is somewhat different, and are much more difficult to fight than the same mobs over and over. So I guess I like lockdown because it's much more of a challenge than PVE.

Also striker boost gives for much faster paced fights than in PVE.

I, along with many other players I know, like lockdown purely because of the fact that its PvP. In the normal PvE, the enemies are static, and don't adapt to the situation at hand. Since in lockdown you're facing another player, another human, there is thought and/or strategy considered, therefore making things in lockdown challenging. Considering the fact that the majority of end-game players have already done everything that can be done in the PvE aspect of the game, something ever-changing is a great addition

For most end game players, PvE isn't a challenge anymore. So they do LD for a challenge.
Also for people who got plenty of gears can make another goal which is to get UVs for LD.

Well, I dislike PvP but I play it quite often. I don't know why lol

I like it because I am a competitive person, and I like the competition. I also have been playing LD for a long time now (T2 mostly) so I know most of the regulars. It can get frustrating at times, like when you're being senselessly beaten by three Max UV'd, hammer-wielding clones, but bar those times it's very enjoyable.

Oh, and PvE is the same every single time. Same levels with memorized spawn locations, same optimal weapons for every situation, same dumb AI.

Damage only proves how aggressively you play, not how well. In most games I've been in (random, not GvG) I can beat nearly anyone else there in a normal 1v1 fight, yet my damage is generally below the average of the group, because I care more about securing the points than running around attacking everyone I see.

Also, recons and guardians generally get less damage than strikers because they're not as mobile of a class

For the joy of killing. You know, it is really enjoyable to see opponents fall down one after another in front of you, especially if you were a Guardian, which makes you feel much more Leeroy-Style. In fact, swinging swords and landing a damn injuring blow is funny, and then finishing them with some bullets, and they fall down like a squeezed cockroach. Ahh... the feeling...

In general, it is for the bloodiness, Spartanic Moments and killing several people one after another.

I will add to my other comment my agreeing with Dragneel. Suddenly getting that rush and all-killing the other team is something you can't get anywhere else in the game. It doesn't happen very often, but it's worth those other games I talked about before.

Because it is the only

Because it is the only distraction from Mission 9-3: King of Ashes. I'd run the Arcade more but the time it takes standing around and waiting for a party to form is ludicrous. Were the Arcade as active as it were back when I first started playing this game I wouldn't just play Lockdown all the time, and even then I tend to only play for a few games a day before I lose my drive or get frustrated by it.

I will say though, I do enjoy PvP. I just don't enjoy risk-PvP. Lockdown doesn't have this, and thus I can play it without worrying about losing gear or something whenever I die. (Maybe it's a RuneScape trauma.) I do tend to get competitive as I keep playing, but I try not to get into it to the point of frustration - emphasis on try, as I am not always that successful - but being able to put your on wits against another player is something I very much enjoy both spectating and participating in. I'm not good at PvP, by any means, but I try to stay on a level where I can at least attempt fighting veterans and be somewhat succesful - even if it takes a lifetime's worth of luck in the process. So long as I can land a hit or two to wear them down that's a big enough accomplishment for me.

@ Shidara - Silent Legion mission is much more fun, goes faster, and you get to face the closest thing to a PvE "guardian" possible without playing PvP. :>

It's an interesting mission, sure, but if I were to play it as excessively as King of Ashes the novelty would wear off quickly and it would become a repeat of the Ash Fever but less profitable. There's also the point of finding party members to run with. Running with friends and guildsmen is fine, and it can be fun, but what was interesting back then was fighting alongside people you had never met before and see how you worked out as a team.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

@Mawa: Actually, I just want the washing machine bomb.

@Shidara: That's a shame. Recently, I've been trying to hunt down every last level map to play as a goal instead, just so I can see all the different layouts; I'm still missing the Stygian Steeds one, unfortunately, but I have all the others. I find it more enjoyable - if somewhat less profitable - to take a break from the endless KoA runs and actually use the Clockworks every now and again.

A few reasons i get a kick out of ld.

Chief reason is that i never focused on it, so im not great at it. Its a new challenge for me, one i plan on mastering.

Secondly, i enjoy the raging people do over the smallest things. People rage about AT, spam, clones, etc. I enjoy sitting back and watching the failure of humanity when put into direct competition.

Lastly, i enjoy playing unconventional roles with somewhat unconventional styles. My current favorite is playing guardian and trying to maintain a good cap/defend/damage ratio. I find great joy in playing guard for a team who understands the concept of capping and fighting om a point, as i feel more effective that way.

Reason

I like seeing full trink strikers walk (more like fly) into my mist bombs, get deathmarked and whacked with a nightblade
And also the epic moments where your entire team is guardian or recon, leading clones to blame their deaths on the so many "guardian/recon noobs"

Two thousand against ten? Will we run and live!? Fight and you may die. Run and you will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell
our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom! FREEEEDOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I really hated

Before I really hated lockdown, and only did it to get Voltedge, Triglav line recipes; but then I started loving it because it's much more fast paced then PvE, and versing other players which actually have skill and not just AI is really fun. Outsmarting, outmunuvering other players is really cool, and it's really awesome when a bunch of wolver clones lay dead at your feet.

Challenge.

The vanilla PvE is fine and all, but the lack of difficulty makes it boring once you get to 5*. Sure, there are danger missions, but they're not so much difficult as they are "SURVIVE A MILLION FARKING ENEMIES THAT CAN KILL YOU IN 3 HITS! OK? GO!".

Fighting other thinking human beings for a few rounds is more satisfying than beating any mission in the clockworks. Never mind that the experience always has a chance of being new (different people, same people with new tactics, same people new gear, new people with odd gear, etc.), ironically more so in some aspects than the clockworks.

Unfortunately, the PvP is the part of the game they dropped the ball on. There's been little to no balancing, and no signs of it in the future. Lack of oversight and horrible server latency makes it also rage-inducing for anyone not being a skolver clone, milking the broken system.

So, it's far from perfect (hell, it's hardly 'acceptable' compared to how other F2P & MMOs tinker with PvP), but for me, it's the only reason I pop back in to play SK these days.

I enjoy Lockdown for two

I enjoy Lockdown for two reasons:

1) I absolutely -hate- 90% of the people who play Lockdown because of their general stupidity. As a result, I enjoy killing them.
2) Recon is fun because more than the other two classes it allows you to outsmart your opponents with skilled play. Recon gunning also allows me to be different enough from the Skolver clones that I feel I have a playstyle unique to me, while still being able to kill most of them in 1v1 fights (and frequently 1v2+ - I like a good 1v4 matchup against medioctre sword strikers). This gives me a feeling of superiority and uniqueness while also keeping the game interesting.

Lockdown's balance is questionable at best, and if you're just getting into it it's not any fun because you the clones will run all over you until you learn how to dodge them. I would never recommend Lockdown to anyone as fun, but it's worth acknowledging that it can be. People who say it's more enjoyable than PvE because of the challenge are among the 90% of Lockdown players that I hate. Variety, sure, but if you honestly think that Lockdown obsoletes PvE, you need to get over yourself.

Node 53120 is credit to team

Like Kal said, Recon is a blast. I like to Recon Bomb when I play, with my 4* Gigawatt as an emergency weapon or a "coup de grace" for a Shocked target... pity the scoreboard doesn't record "Players distracted at one point for a full minute while the rest of the team caps the other points easy" or I'd have a scoreboard to screenshot.

Know what's hilarious, though? When someone isn't wearing Freeze-resistant armor. Then you can Shiver them and keep them locked there. It has the side effect of inducing rage, but it's hilarious.

EDIT: Especially if the guy's a Striker.

I like it because there isn't an easily predictable kind of AI in Lockdown (or Blast Network, but there everyone dies in one hit and they all have a pretty similar weapon). You may play the same person again and again over one CP, and they may learn from it, grow smarter, and come back and beat you this time. It's basically the fact that every individual plays differently and adapts to you, and when you combine that with expansive maps, chokepoints and objective CPs, you end up never knowing precisely what you'll be doing as soon as you get to wherever you're going.

It's kinda thrilling. I like it. Plus I get a warm, fuzzy feeling from killing Dusker clones without my using pendants ;P.
