Nice work. If I get some time, then I'll try to help.
I assume that you're taking screenshots using Shift-Command-3? But the shield recharges faster than you can arrange your fingers?

SK can take screenshots itself, default bound to F12 but you can change that to what ever is easier.
F12 also happens to be the volume increase button, and makes the system swipe over to the dashboard or something. I just now rebound it to \.
I'll take new data some time soon.
F12 is only if you're playing through Steam (maybe other clients too, but the downloaded client doesn't do that)
Really? I haven't rebound screenshot, and don't play through steam and it's F12.
Do you not know about shift+command+3? It's the system wide command for full screenshot on mac os x. It dumps it right to desktop. For an added bonus replace 3 with a 4 and press spacebar on the sk window to take a screenshot of just the sk window and not the desktop.
I'll give it a shot next chance I get. Lately, I've rebound the SK screenshot button to the "\" key. Problem is, the pixel count differs between the game window and the image. Which of the two should I trust more?
Apple system commands save the full resolution.

Can you explain a bit more? Which one is bigger/smaller etc...
I took a screenshot of the Dread Skelly's shield health bar.
*Its length is 348 pixels in the screenshot.
*Its length is 360 pixels in-game.
What do you mean by "in-game"? Are you leaning in and counting pixels on your monitor? Or do you mean SK screenshot vs manual screenshot?
I just took a few screenshots myself(with SK, manually, and with fraps for completeness) they all turned out the same size. (except for manually screenshotting as that has the window border as well, but the game inside that is still the same size). Unless there's something happening involving running fullscreen at a lower resolution than your monitor can handle, and the two methods capture differently as a result, I don't know.
For reference Proto Shield is 60px wide at the login monitor/console thing. Running SK windowed at 1280x800.
Can some of you guys get data on non-UV'd shields?
